Upsizing containers during flower?

Hi, My girls are on day 35 flower.....in 2 gallon grow bags. I just got some 3 gallon bags and was wondering if it is ok to repot them now? I am sure it will stunt them....so is it worth it at this point?

Here are the ladies.......Satori back right, other two are SLH

From what I was told you should not transplant when in flower because the plant will be focusing on its roots rather then bud production.

Drop the 2 gallon bag into the 3 gallon bag and pack your media between the two bags. Should be fine if they are the cloth bags.

Thanks for the feedback guys......I'll add this to my "newbie mistakes I made" list. :wallbash:

So what is the idea behind dropping one bag into the other? Hope the roots will come thru? Or to help keep the original medium moist?

And since they are cloth bags......I could cut the bag away and not disturb the roots too much.

But....more than likely will just let them go like they are.

If you take the cloth bag off you will damage the roots. This damage in flower may make them hermi. Why chance it just drop it into the other bag and the roots will grow through the first bag. You will just have to run with two bags till the end of flower.

By dropping the first bag into the second bag you will slow down the evaporation of moisture out the side of the bag. If you are to long into flower few roots will develope into the second bag. This moisutre that is in the outside bag will also move to the inside where your plant is drinking. This will help by allowing you more time between watering. If you miss a watering it may not be as detrimental to the plant.

leave them alone, what is your medium?? i would take advantage of the shorter wet/dry cycles and feed them girls , unless you are growing with an organic water only mix, 2gallons will be fine.

Thanks gueilll........but have already done 2 out of 3. May leave it in the 2 gal as it is tall and lanky compared to the other 2.

That's what I like about these forums.....many different experiences and advice.

If it was me. I would roll the cloth grow bags down. Why.... because if its a cloth grow bag. that means the roots should be air pruned! which means transplanting should be ez pzy. Transplant those lovely ladys brotha! I would suggest you put the plant in a garbage bag, to not get dirt in you're flowers. but that would be my only concern. you won't set them back more than a few hours... but if it was in a plastic pot this would be a different conversation. Smart pots are my <3

Transplant is good, but it should be done up to 2nd week of flowering and not any later. Changing pot at this stage of your grow would mess up with roots and this would affect the yield and bud quality and also your plant would undergo transplant shock and will take couple of more days to recover from it. However, the bag-in-bag idea should work. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try.
