Ok I just wanna throw this out there. why isnt there a growers association in cali? is there one?
my old line of work dealt alot with access rights. we had the constitutional right to stand at a store and collect signatures. that law was based on an old concept that people gathered at the market and thats where people would also gather to talk politics, ie on the soap box. translated to modern day scenarios and the market place is now just big businesses. the way they would skirt that law was to mark out a yellow box on the ground waaaay far away from the entrance of the store. out of the way of the flow of traffic. that way - hey you can still be here, just you wont be successful.
I see a trend with medical mj that is similar to that concept of - hey you can grow, just only a little and only with so much light, canopy etc. its a way to nickle and dime people out of their rights. even if you have members in your collective or what not and are a provider for them, its very likely that those allowances could be challenged and chipped away at. i know the definition of caregiver has already changed. no matter the outcome this november, there will be serious consequences for this community.
Many people have grown and will grow regardless of political climate and thats great. alot of people hate hate hate politics and i understand that too. im not trying to piss people off here. im a newb to the growing thing. maybe im not in the know enough and theres already something similar to this happening already.
Im also not pretending to lead the charge on this. leadership if there is any would probably have to come from someone more respected and known from the community. if the concept of leadership is even needed.
the purpose of this thread is to open up the debate as to why there isnt already such an association of growers, what it would take to make one, and what concerns you think are important?
a consortium devoted to the advancement and progression of our causes and rights.
what do you guys think? impossible to herd the pidgeons?
