could you tell me everything you know about silver haze please. i am very interested in this one and wonder if it is worth the 100 bones. i have smoked it once at the cup in 05 and it was my fav. what is its lineage and did de dampkring use a sensi silver haze for their entry in 05? any other info on it as appreciated too. peace and smoke.

I haven't heard a ton about the 'Silver Haze' from Sensi, but I do know the few people who I've seen grow it realy loved it. Potent, great taste, easy to grow, decent yeild..

It's supposed to be a HTs winner if that means anything.. Here's the description:

"Although the cerebral high of the Sativa is preferred by many, indoor growers aren't too font of this type: Sativas get very tall, take a long time to finish off and produce skimpy yields. We have spent years searching for a superb Indica/Sativa hybrid suited for indoor growing. By crossing the Haze, the most powerful Sativa in the World, to a non-dominant Indica we managed to get the height and flowering time of the plant down to an acceptable level and still retain the unique Sativa qualities of the high. The results: the Silver Haze, winner of the '89 High Times Harvest Festival. Don't expect top yields but top quality that will excite the true connoisseur

Flowering: 65-75 days.

Height: 150-180 cm.

Yield: up to 100 gr."

Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure if this is just Sensi's version of Super Silver Haze, which is what you might have actualy smoked. IF some other people can confirm that it is just another SSH, I would recomend buying Mr. Nice's SSH, by Shanti. By all account the best SSH out there. I think it's about $130 for 15 seeds, but I've nevr seen anyone disapointed.

i have some f2s made from mr nice stock from fjallohja (spelling, sorry friend) if silver haze from sensi is just a ssh remake then i do not have to go buy it. i still have the packaging the silver haze came in from de dampkring at the 05 ht cup. i have always just wondered if de dampkring grew out sensi's version of silver haze because i loved it at the cup.
i thought ssh had three strains in it or it was a 3 way hybrid and silver haze was a two way hybrid. any more info would be great if someone out there knows it.
peace and smoke.

SQ yields average, but makes up for it with its amazing potency. You should get some interesting phenos from the f2s. Sorry no pics

Med, this is some good weed, I've been smoking the first plant a few days now, wow. It's kind of sweet, but my buddy says grapefruit? Either way it's all good. I ended up with 5 females. I started sampling around day 47, 52, then 54. 54 is way potent enough for me. I have 3 diff pheno/strains.

This was day 33, a while back

Good luck in your seed quest :joint:
I find D.J.Short's Blueberry is IT for me.........
One thing - I did a seed stockup a while back and now I'm finding germ rates have fallen from when the seeds were fresh - just thought I'd throw that in as something to consider........ :joint:

If you can get Island Sweet Skunk from Federation I suggest you don't hesitate for a second..

One of the most highly rated strains I've seen for potency, and great yeilds. Check out JJScorpio's gallery for some bitchin' ISS pics.

Can you describe the phenos? Remember that Spacequeen was Romluan x C99.
The pineapple pheno could be C99 dominant. I would look for the indica Romulan pheno.

I'll try and get a camera this weekend. The fan leaves on one were huge and some had 9 leaves on it.

a few of my thoughts on strains.....

a few of my thoughts on strains.....

I'd say that 95% of strains out there for sale will give excellent results if grown well....don't get too hung up on the greatest, latest or the strongest strain that hits the net....try to place more importance on maintaining vigorous plant health during all stages of growth, by creating an excellent environment, timely feeding and harvesting at peak potential (which is at least 10% later than most I see harvested by going from photos on the net!..when in doubt - wait a week!) and you will be happy with whatever strain you grow, regardless of the hype.

an experienced grower would get much better results with plain old Skunk or Nothern Lights than an inexperienced grower who overfertilized and early picked the (most outrageously expensive) latest Cup winning strain ...keep in mind that great bud comes from a combination of good genes AND good gardening.

I've found over the years that strains with the strongest potency are similar to high proof liquors ..I'd rather drink a bottle of good wine and catch a nice feeling that accentuates flavours and feelings, than down some hi-octane hard liquor that is unpleasant and zonks me....and I'm the same with cannabis, the quality of the high is far more important than potency....many potent strains rated 8.5 or 9 out of 10 that I've grown or smoked have had a boring, "monotone" high..while many favourite strains of mine that would only register as a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 have a wonderful, inspirational, brain tingling high that I keep reaching for!....with time you'll find that it's the quality of the high that's takes importance over strength...

and another point to consider when buying strains is variety...even the best of the best strains grown expertly and to their fullest potential tend to become boring if you smoke it and nothing else more than several times per day, every day..I'd rather have 3 or 4 low cost Nirvana strains growing in my garden and in my stash box than one overly expensive, hyped up strain - anyday

Happy growing!

a whole bunch of people seems to have missunderstood this thread and are listing famous cup-winners etc ..

most strains this far listed are NOT underrated nor overlooked.

one old fave of mine:
guatemalan highland - from the lago de attitlan area - grown at an altitude of 3000m. very hazy and extremelly trippy. it was completelly covered in thc glands. looked grey/white.

should have kept seeds.

peace
