under yielding

No thanks. I prefer quality to quantity. More lumens per bud for me.

It sounds like you don't have a cotton-picking clue what you're talking about. Let's leave the conjecture out of the New Growers forum, yeah? When you've learned something, then come back and offer some advice. Otherwise you're hurting more than you're helping.

have you thought a second what you've just wrote?

that yield is bad. What brand of bulb are you using? How far are those reflectors from the plants? a few pics would help but I would simply start with basics. Light distance, pH of feed water/runoff, temperatures, air movement, and feed program.

I should have put my input about the difficulty you where having too.

That lavender strain is most likely your problem, If conditions are up to par. Never tried it but i hear horrible things.....sorry i hate to say that about any plants, but i looked into it and called a few people. It just doesnt have the genes to yeild like some strains.

Do you have any lavender pollen? I wouldnt mind trying to get a good pheno of lavenderXbig bud, maybe that would give it some better yielding characteristics.

I got it i was just explaining to the nay-sayers about the facts of vertical......

His difficulties arent with his setup, they are with the strain and/or care.

I'm not here to argue about vertical grows. I just said its not for me and not this guys problem.

Maybe you should take your advanced grow advice to a different forum then? I'm just trying to help. Verticle is not the answer to everything. More lumens used is not the same as more lumens per bud. I understand what I have wrote, and I don't think most of you do.

Big ups to Green Lung for actually reading and not jumping in the hating ring. Gracias

Dlu, I apologize for hijacking your thread. The last thing this site needs is another 'how I grow vertical" thread, but that is just the monster I have created. I hope this doesn't prevent you from getting the help you are looking for.
Good luck!

That's cute, but we'd be more interested in your platitudes if you actually knew what the fuck you were talking about. :tiphat: Thanks for the neg rep, I threw you some positive rep because it looks like you're gonna need it.

Since the OP hasn't been back to supply the info requested, he's either not that interested in help or was scared off by posters berating him.

Did this thread need a how-to on vert? Nah, but it didn't need HJ's snarky uninformed comments either.

Also, I fail to see the distinction HJ is making. More bud sites can be irradiated with the same level of intensity with vertical lighting. I'm not sure what your conjecturing, but I have a feeling it's based more on misinformed theory rather than experience. Throw up some citations/sources maybe? You've peaked my interest.

Same level of intensity, same bulb, same tent, same nutes, same plants, just super efficient use of the space. The benifit is more VOLUME, so the AREA that is irradiated is the same but in a higher VOLUME. Since you said the intensity is equal, you are in complete agreement.

If I grow 2 Identical plants in the same conditions, and I grow one to 5 feet tall, and one to 2 feet tall......Which one yields more?

Not dissing or arguing with anyone. To each his own, You do you and Ill do me. Strictly informational. Based on facts, not theory.

Plus Rep to BlendoSlendo for displaying honesty, and verifying that intensity doesnt change in vert.

My source is my career and growing experience. I have a bachelors in science and biology, and im still today in school working on my masters in botany/plant biology.
