just as i suspected, the new point and shoot camera does much much better outside...makes sense for a outdoor sports oriented camera, which is after all what i got it for,the dslr is great for many things but rugged and portable are not two qualities it has...

Nice snapshot Unc, what make/model camera did you buy?

I'm in the market for an camera that is great for extreme closeup/macro photos.

These are the ones I'm considering right now:

Olympus XZ-1 10 MP Digital Camera with f1.8 Lens

Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Canon G12 10 MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

I am heavily leaning towards the Olympus with its 1cm focal distance... But it has no flash :(
Because if that I'm looking at the cannon s95

Does anyone have experience with any of these cameras?

Thanks in advance,
BeL

its a fuji dammit its in my pack right now oh wait heres the box XP60...
if you want a good macro camera go with a dlsr of some sort, its all about the lens with macro, expect to spend some dough...

if you're looking at bikes i cant recommend surly highly enough, great bike so far at around 1000 miles total...

Afternoon fellerz :flu:

Lost the last 2 days to being sick as a freakin dog !!! went to bed saturday afternoon & didn't get up till this morning around 10 am . except for a few sprints to the bathroom , i've been in bed the whole time . was so dizzy & out of it I barely knew what time of day it was or what day it was .

feelin a little better today .... not so dizzy & feverish anymore .
but i'm pissed at myself for losing two good working days in the rooms . coulda had it set up for flower by now !!! but it is what it is i guess .

pappy , i'll get back to ya about the RO system & where i got it .... jus gotta give me a day or so . i'll give ya the link to where i get mine so you can look through it at least .
This is the unit i bought & use . its a 150GPD unit with 3 sediment 1 RO & 2 DI filters which most people don't use .... they give you 0 water . I took my old one , took off the RO & DI filters , bought new replacement sediment filters Put those 3 in line before the new 6 stage unit . which gives me 9 stages of filtration .

Unc .... ya bought a Fuji ???? mines the Fuji finepix T350 .... any similarities ???

probably dan,my camera box had pictures of people mountain biking and rock climbing so i figure that was the niche market i was going to fit best in...

just got done with a pretty good little ride...well its seems like a good ride now im home and food is on the way,it was pretty ugly on the way up the hill....theres just no combination of the words washboard, sandy, gravel covered and uphill that works out to a pleasant ride...until its done that is...then it becomes gnarly grindage,or a heaping helping of hellish heinous-ocity...
anyway,2 hours in the saddle, covered 32 miles which is great considering it was half climbing and a 1/3 on dirt roads....

really liking the new shoes, they feel like they transfer so much more power to the pedals with less fatigue overall, actually dont feel too bad...about to eat....

it turns out nothing is that far away when you're in no hurry to get there...the desert was in full luxuriant bloom, the wind was really low until i was going downhill so i had to pedal the last 10 miles into a headwind, but like i said,it was downhill all the way home so no worries...i really had no idea whether i was even going to be able to make the full loop...i was pretty sure, but pretty sure is meaningless when you're 15 miles from home....this ride was just perfect in that way,16 miles up,16 miles down...i had stopped at a spot just shy of where the climbing stops and had a bowl and a granola bar and drank a bunch of water...got back on the bike, finished the last section of climbing, came around a corner, and there is was, miles of downhill laid out like a blessed ribbon before me,and even better it turned to pavement after a bit which was a surprise since it was always dirt before...

do it!! get on a bike, all you need to do is suck it up for 6 weeks and generally your body adapts in that amount of time....time in the saddle counts more than just getting on the bike and hammering away at the pedals...think of the time, not the miles, you dont need to go a bazillion miles an hour...unless thats your thing,in which case hammer on!

yea man the only reason im considering it is cause from walking all over gods green patch im in much better physical condition then when i came... i havent had a sixpack since college... isometrics really works a number if u do it right....

but shit on a bike uphill thats basically iso nonstop i guess.... is that something people do on bikes.. isometrics? i guess it works in any activity idk...

but yea i maybe ill get one:)

walking is for pedestrians! its way,way faster than walking, even during the really awful bits of the climb i was still going 7 mph...on the road the whole time i could have covered another 6-10 miles in the same time...i think at this point, and i crossed 800 miles on the odometer today,im fit enough to take on the local challenges, the rides i can get done in a day....first,over the pass with a load to camp,37 miles one way,5800 foot pass to climb...then the next ride will be an out and back for lunch in a town 40 miles from here...ride up,eat and come home...then theres another park 60 miles from here, that will be a good overnight trip...next level will be a 92 mile day to another park, plus the return the next day...might not be so much camping as ride someplace, eat,go to sleep, wake up,eat, ride home....

im drinking a 1554 and getting really high, feeling pretty good all things considered...still sort of hungry and a bit dehydrated, probably burned 1000 calories on my little jaunt,1500 feet of elevation gain, probably 2000 feet of total climbing spread over 31.9 miles with almost exactly half of the route being climbing and half descent,10 miles of dirt road with about 7 of that being difficult to hard...

about to go water although i see from the calendar that its about time to start the flush on the glue screen...

Yes mate Spring is in the AIR :woohoo:
and yeah I'll have a few little plants here an there, I am also trying out b00m's dodgey brother light dep this year and I have a Trainwreck X Princess Diesel f2 and a Dynamite X Princess Diesel f3 starting to bud up nicely already, so ol b00mer should have buds for Christmas time this year instead of having to buy smoko and taking pot luck with what I got.
This year will be top shelf goodness an dankness instead of commercial grown crapola.
puff puff pass
:smoke out:
