Love your threads bro, not many people are as intricate as you so its a rare treat to witness such a detailed thread (we feel very lucky to have you rocking CSG).
The Lemchem is delightful, we got 2 main phenos. One is straight Kush and although she is a little weak stemmed it is more than made up for with frost and low leaf to bud ratio. She is also very potent. The other pheno is as lemony as i have ever known a strain, reminds me of bathroom cleaner in Europe called "Cif" (formerly Jif) mixed with lemon curd....its such a smooth creamy lemon smell, without the zestiness usually associated with citrus smelling strains. She is a better yielder than the Kush pheno but a little more effort to trim up (i also found her a little more reluctant to flush than the Kush pheon but that may be more related to their care before i took over the grow).
Cant wait to see this unfold, gonna be awesome to get your thoughts on everything come harvest.
Peace

I see things about the rapid rooters that I like and things that I dont. When I encounter things like this, it makes me want to make a better product and gets me to focus on things that I shouldnt. I dont like the supplied hole. Its too big. I dont like that I cant balance them because of the shape. I like everything else so far though..

I've been using rooters for a while and you're correct about the downsides, being:

1) hole too big. I solve this by breaking off a small corner of the rooter and stuffing it into the hole (AFTER you put in the cut :)

2) hard to balance. This is trickier. The don't stand upright on their own. You either need to put them into a container so that they support each other or buy one of those trays that they fit into.

That and you just need to make sure they stay moist. I let them stand in about 2ml of plain tap water.

On the plus side, they do work, and the little plug forms a nice support for them to grow into.

best of luck

You havnt seen anything yet. My goal this year is to only run CGS gear for many years to come and to document logs a lot better than this. You will see in time what is really up. Cant wait to show you guys what im really about. Thanks for the info on the lemchems!

looking great bro

love your detailed log

root riots are prety good
just keep them wet with regular spray and they will be fine
i mist mine every day or even more times if under hps

keep up the good work bro

peace

Thanks ojd! I wish I had time to show you more. I have lots of ideas and some crazy plans. Im just dead tired right now.

Good looks for the info. Let them sit in water huh. Strange. Not sure if ill be doing that.

i dont let them sit in water, i will fill up a tray with Ph'd water, put the 50 count tray of rooters in for 5-10 minutes, the pull them out and pour the water out into one of my mothers. put the 50 count tray back in; i do that once a day. i find letting them sit in water sometimes causes stem rot, but only if my veg room is above 80 deg.

thanks again for the help with my cloning, UC. the bleach drops and rubbing alcohol to keep the blades clean really makes a difference..........

Snypette is currently transplanting the LemChems into 5 gal containers. Flowering next week.

Thats how I was going to do it except maybe every 2 or 3 days. The first 24 hours I keep the dome closed and then I open the vents after that. I just checked on them and they seem wet so ill see how they feel tomorrow. Thanks!

i stopped using the dome after you instructed me to get rid of it and trim the leaves way down, way better that way, and they root up and acclimate to the soil much better. was wondering why you are bothering with the dome?

I think you mistook what I said. I said get rid of the dome at day 7 unless you have an aerocloner. The only way that I would advise anyone to not use a dome is if the humidity in your room is already high. maybe it is. I would assume your doing a lot of misting if you have no dome. When I dont use my ez cloner, I always use a dome for 7-9 days. For the first 24-36 hours, I keep the vents closed. Make sure the medium isnt too saturated (80-90%) when you use a medium like rookwool. After the first 24-36 hours, I leave the vents open. Domes vary with different styles and size vents so it can be hard to explain but if you have bigger vents then you open the vents slightly. After a few days I open the vents more and day 7-9 I remove the dome. I water with the same solution that I originally soaked the cubes which is stated above. Through my experience in my conditions, the clones dont usually need to.be watered for about 7 days but after you remove the dome it is every 2-3 days. This is with rockwool starter cubes. Rapid rooters will be different no doubt. I want the rockwool cubes to dry to 40-50% before I flood them. Once i see roots, i only want them to lose 20-30% before i flood again. Rapid rooters seem different and it seems logical that you dont want them to dry out as much as rockwool. They dont hold as much solution like rockwool does.

I would also like to state that my method is not the only way to use. There are so many ways to clone and this is just the method i have used since 1993. It has been a staple method in all my gardens. Cloning is not difficult but if you are new to it you have to observe your plants. For example if you see them wilting and you dont have a dome then put a dome on them. You must understand how to eliminate your variables. There are many variables. Your plants really do talk to you but you must want to learn their language. This message is not directed toward you but to whoever reads it who wants to learn.

I work with what i have most times. most of my past grows werent all hi tech. I work the conditions that i am giving on 2 light per room grows. Bigger grows cannot work this way and need more equipment for cooling and co2. In a perfect veg room maybe i wouldnt use a dome if i had a small room for them That is warm and humid. Its the medium that needs the humidity not the plant. You see how this works with aerocloners with no dome as long as keeping the stems wet and humid.

yeah, my humidity is at 65% in my veg room. dehuey is on about 50% of the time.

when i used to use a dome, my clones would wilt and flop over for the first few days. not anymore. i think i used ur methods along with another members methods.

anyway.......................

I remeber talking about that. The only way i can see your clones wilting like that in the dome is if your medium is too dry or your conditions within the dome were too hot or some sort of fungus or pathogen. Thats dope that you dont use a dome in those conditions. Ill give it a try sometime.

I like to use the Rapid rooters but I flip them over and start by taking a chop stick and make a small slit in the bottom. They stand up on their own that way, also it seams to
me that by letting them go to 50% dry after they root it helps to speed up the root growth and in 9-12 days are ready to be transplanted. Now in my neck of the woods humidity is not a problem at least for rooting since it never seems to go below 75% so a dome is not realy required. Just my two cents...
