UK growth trends

Just ten years ago only 11% of the cannabis on UK streets was grown within its shores.

But now that figure stands at 60%, according to a report produced by the charity DrugScope.

Awesome, power to the people, overgrow the world!

Apart from that, I find this report by the bcc pretty disgusting.

I was watching this story on the news last night about them busting vietnamese growers in houses etc and well, it was like nobody had actually researched just how they grow pot - at all. There was all sorts of talk of "heat-lamps" etc.

Nice!!!:D....shit like this makes me feel like spending countless hours helping people how to grow high quality marijuana at OG was worth every second.....every damn second.

Keep up the good work growers. Soon they will have no choice but to cave in to our demands :muahaha:

I'd really love to think this is just small scale operations but its really not - I think most of it is gang related mass production just like you see in Canada and the States. Don't get me wrong I like seeing a country flooded with domestic weed as much as the next pothead but when a lot of this stuff is associated with organised crime, human exploitation, undoubtably guns and whatnot it doesn't really make me feel good about buying it.

That said, the fact theres a hydro-shop in practically every town and city is testament to something, its just I think those growing the real good 'ethical' stuff are keeping it for themselves and their friends... probably as they should.

All this growing could be a blessing or a curse. The cops seem to think they're doing a good job of keeping it under control though, which is pretty funny.

I would be amazed if it is not much more than just 60%, I would think it has been more than that for most of the past 10 years

either way, it is good news

now less stoners' money is spent on "Conflict Weed"

less of it going to fund the purchase of guns to arm militias in Senegal, Congo, Afghnaistan, Columbia

still, the sooner the idiots in power here realise the contribution that legalising ganja will make to globale security the better

- protect the rights and livelihood of farmes in the "developing" world
- increase rural wealth, decrease poverty and the instability and extremism it breeds
- remove the prime source of funding for civil war and unrest across Africa, Asia and South America

This guy clearly knows his field.

We all know papers are mostly full of propaganda bs, and false truths. English papers are notorious for sensationalising, getting the facts completely wrong, and getting sued.

'Fiddle their meters'

He said thermal imaging technology was often used to detect cannabis factories, as they release up to 10 times as much heat as an average home.

But Martin Duffell of British Gas told BBC Five Live that the gangs rarely paid for their electricity, bypassing their meters and linking up their power supply to street lights.

"If they were using huge amounts of electricity to power their lights and other equipment their bills would shoot up," he said.

"Rather than paying that they fiddle their meters."

Once again, most of these busts result from stealing electricity.
When are people going to learn their lesson?
