Yeah the Lemon Skunk is a very fine smoke but it's not GHS who deserve the credit, all they did was spray the cut with chemicals and profit off the resulting seeds, even a servile helper monkey like franco can manage that.

The Lemon Skunk cut is an old cut that's been around the Las Vegas area since the 80s. Someone sent it over to DNA Genetics and they crossed it to a Skunk#1 male they bought from Eddy Rekedder who used to own TFD. The person who was holding the Lemon Skunk for DNA gave the cut to Arjan because they had fallen out with DNA and wanted to get revenge. Hence GHS are now selling Lemon Skunk fems and you can buy Lemon Skunk x Skunk #1 regular seeds from DNA.

It's always amazing when a gang of crooks like GHS and DNA manage to bring something good to the table, and in Lemon Skunk they have, despite their machinations! lol

Chizzleontime.. That plant doesn't look burned, looks good for a first run, My experience with that genetic is to top/supercrop a clone early then do it again and then 12/12 them and after 7-10 days pinch out top the buds and it will amaze you it grows the best canopy,, you cet probably 16/32 main buds... it also needs little food...

(DocLeaf is a master plant traning technichian) 1 pinch everywhere.... vola.

keep it up uk crew...

I this season will be looking at males to make a hybrid male of Shantibaba's ww & haze (tomhill's) I will have to allow the cross boath ways for productivity but I will be using known parents,,, no random pollinations as I wish to vile all available pollen 1 time round...

I am looking to make the cross to see if i am able to capture my favriout haze flavour and with the widdow not determine hop much taste and smell goes through in the cross I would be nice but how much & what resin, density and bringing down flowertime, I want to then have pollen safe and cut's of the parents, I will grow out all pips to find A male only i will have Nobody else.... the quest does start here for me.. Find some female keepers too.

males with hollow stems and resistance to pests flower cluster size /flower density vigour shape and special things female sepals???,, a pattern in growth that enables the penetratioin of light into the plant base,, are key I would like a male for the first cross that when it gets cut back it thrives... & clones well.

In the end the goal/hope is find a recessive plant dominant for my selected traits.

I don't think the Widow would be a good choice as it's an F1 hybrid in the form shanti sells it, in the 'Who is Scott Blakey' video he points out the South Indian parent.

As Haze itself is a polyhybrid you want a very inbred, stable pollen donor, using Widow you've got large variation from both sides of the cross to work through. If you use a inbred truebreeding pollen donor all the variation in the subsequent F1s is from the Haze side making subsequent selections far easier.

This is a male I just culled, he had all the traits I look for, but because he is an F1 hybrid of The White x Jack's Cleaner 2 I didn't consider him suitable for breeding. The White is a 3-way unstabilised polyhybird and JC2 is a many-way unstabilised hybrid so the potential for variation is colossal.

First pic shows his exceptional branchiness, males usually don't branch much, so I always select males that have a structure like a female with well developed side branches. Also not the tight node spacing, again unusual for a male. He was also the last of the four males of this strain to show sex, and it is always a good idea to discard the early males.

Second pic shows his stem, very strong and thick, I had to use secateurs to cut through it, scissors wouldn't cut it. I know some people say hollow stems are preferable in a drug cultivar, but I can honestly say the best plants I have grown have all had thick, hard stems like this one. Imho the thicker and stronger the stem the better to support prolific floral development.

Third pic shows the first balls he grew, and notice that they are in cluster rather than just 1 ball like most males. This, to me, indicates a dense and prolific floral production.

Shame he was a polyhybrid of very mixed origins as he had all the traits I look for in male selection. I didn't keep him long enough to assess his smell but a rub of the stem revealed a kushy hashy smell, I suspect he was a The White dominant pheno as The White is a Kush hybrid.

Nice lemon skunk, I grew out about 40 of those from GH's fem stock. There were some very sativa like plants that I didn't finish properly but a few stars also, 1 in particular looked exactly as the green crack clone does (supposed to be the same as lemon skunk) short very frosty ready in 8 weeks max, and a killer buzz.... alas I didn't keep any clones... For the price GH's lemon skunk really can't be beat- it's also a very fine smoke, would love to sample the Super Silver Lemon Haze, always looks great in pics

BTW - heaths nl x g13 x widow looks like it has a shit load of bud on it man! Seems to be quite a yielder!

U lucky liccle ras u chizzle :D, took me 8 x that amount to find it & yeah that looks like the little fella! I'll have to have a sift about my old pics and see if I can find one of it. Was a lovely smoke as u say rocket fuel, taste is present all the way to the last puff...

That pheno and lemon skunk in general is a very underated strain IMO. I am thinking about getting some of those SLH's, but I already have half a pack of AK47's, A few SSH I made from GH regular stock, some White Rhino I also made from GH's regular stock, some OG18 & OG Kush fems (S1's) from Rivera Previda or whatever they're called -essentially DNA, bunch of lemon skunk beans from one that hermied and some other stuff I picked out of stuff I bought etc.

Most have been waiting to be popped for at least 2 yrs :D I just keep getting clones instead as my patience is thin :D and space is at a premium. Will start popping a few from the next round though!

More Goldfinger info...

More Goldfinger info...

Just for the record - for those who have it - I've seen two Goldfinger grows in the last few days, and one of them was a seven-foot monster, but with long empty branches, and long, dark-green leaves due to not enough light. The other was a three-foot bushy shrub, parked right under a 600W air-cooled light, and was the most indica expression I've seen of this one yet - hardly any stretch, chubby leaves and colas that are top to bottom, rather than just one bud on top with smaller ones strung out further down.

They're both from clones from me of the same pheno pictured recently, so it just goes to show that with a lot of light, it's not as stretchy as even I thought, and could also be a higher yielder than I expected too. Just so you know...;)

Cool info. Elevator Man

We got a few Goldfinger clones on the grow ,, mainly because she grows strong for an African cross sativa,, but also because we really enjoyed smoking this one in the daytime.

Your advice on bending the tops down was invaluable.. jah bless,, normally we wouldn't start training a plant in flower,, but this girl is as jangly as they come and seems to enjoy it :D

picture.php

This plant had just had its last feed of guano-tea at 1.8 EC,, so it's a luke warm water diet only from here on.... (i got a feeling all the fan/shade leaves are gonna fall off this one before she's done).. organically grown using LED and natural sunlight :bandit:

We can't comment on phenotypical variation between gardens with Goldfinger yet,, but will keep you updated. Peace n flowers :canabis:

Cheers mate, for 5.99 deffo a bargain, makes it possible to get nice shots of trichomes with a cheapo cam which is a pleasant surprise. I might get another one and use two together, +16 dioptres might be rather interesting to play with! lol

The OGKA stretches loads, best to veg it a while, pruning into a bush for loads of tops. She like nutes, I fed her upto ec 1.9 with canna a+b and pk in coco.

Some more shots of triches on the Jack Herer:
