Not sure if Cejudo won the fight but congrats to him doing so well. Almost hobbled right at the start of the fight! Mouse was gracious in defeat especially considering how close the fight was. It was really too close to call.
Cody has more heart than brains. Comes in full force with chin out. Lost last time doing the same thing. Cub should likely quit but that will be tough for him to do.

I had a visitor for UFC 227 last night, luckily he doesn't drink much...because he's very loud and sings constantly, looking for snacks that I don't keep in my cupboards.
He wouldn't quit yakking about the men's 125 division, said it's like watching womens fight...Rogan stating that was the greatest fight of the year, proves Larry OG alters conscious state significantly. But Henry stating he'll jump weight classes to fight TJ proved he has more ballz than Mighty Mouse ever did.
Woodley vs Till coming up looks like a great fight, not sure if Till can make weight...he's huge for the class, but if he wants the belt he'll watch the Twinkies.

Watch the Conor take down defense vid I linked .
I learnt a lot watching that vid . Touching his opponent on the chest / shoulder gives Conor an early warning the opponent is going to shoot . Subtle but very effective .
Khabib doesn`t shoot like Merican wrestlers . He wants to grab a hold first . To grab a hold he must get close - danger !
I was once a Conor hater . More insight has turned me around .
Ragin Al vs Khabib showed tactics to disrupt Khabib`s take downs . Khabib vs Micheal Johnson ; Johnson was sticking and moving early . Was having a lot of sucess Khabib looked slow . Till he got hold of Johnson and smothered him . I expect Conor vs Khabib to be similar but Conor getting back up and resetting

That was an interesting video, Elmer. And conor has long arms for his height too, so he can touch his opponent from relatively far away and gives him more room to evade takedown attempts.
It does leave him vulnerable to opponent's right hands but he's got a solid chin and good reflexes to avoid getting hurt too much.
But then i saw a replay of his fight against chad mendes at ufc 185, and he got taken down like 5-6 times in the 2+ rounds before he knocked out mendes. Ate a fair number of shots on the ground, including an elbow that cut his eyebrow. But for all that, he displayed poise on the ground, and let mendes spend a lot of energy trying to ground and pound, so that after they got back up after the final takedown mendes couldnt keep his hands up and conor landed a left flush on the chin.
But chad was a last minute replacement for aldo so maybe his cardio wasnt good without a full camp to train up, and khabib has cardio for days and can take down anyone. Which is why he opened up the betting favorite over conor.
We'll see how it goes, i like conor, despite his antics, he's got this bravado/showmanship that's entertaining, so i would go with conor by tko in the 3rd...

It's interesting to hear the pro's picks on mcgregor-nurmagomedov. GSP picks khabib just cause he has multiple ways he can win, wrestling, ground n pound, submission. Whereas, conor's only realistic chance at winning is catching khabib coming in with a left hand.
Khabib can pretty much take down any one at will, even if conor defends the first attempt, if khabib has him backed up against the cage and has one or both legs, conor is going down. And his ground control is amazing.
But watching that iaquinta fight, yeah, khabib beat up al on the ground the first two rounds, but then he kept the fight standing the last 3 rounds, except for a late takedown in the 5th. Kind of strange, and khabib ate some shots from Al but wasnt really hurt or marked up, whereas he was jabbing al's face into a bloody mess. Maybe he wanted to make a statement that he's got striking skills too, but obviously if he tries that against conor he'll likely get ko'd.

Khabib uses the cage for take downs.
If you angle off from the cage what is plan B ?
No one remember Conor taking Nate Diaz down at the end of the round in their 1st fight ?
How about when he took down Max Holloway and controlled him ?
Not the 1 trick pony many people think .
Khabib loves the wrist grab to stop the opponent creating the "tripod " and standing up . Not allowing the wrist control is the key .
Al was taken down early because he was parrying Khabib`s jab . Keeping his right by his chin .Not able to push away or under hook .When Khabib ducked under .
Later rounds he adjusted his right arm lower . Took a lot of jabs to the face but shut the door on Khabib`s entrance to the take down he used early . This would have been noted ...
Could look like Honda vs Holly .

I rewatched the iaquinta fight and it didnt seem like he was keeping his right hand much lower in rounds 3-5 than in rounds 1-2, but maybe im just seeing it wrong. Mostly it seemed that khabib wasnt really trying to take him down, he attempted like 1 takedown per round after the first 2 rounds and Al managed to push out of them until late in the 5th round.
Maybe khabib was tired, or maybe he figured he had the fight won by then. He was easily winning the stand up in rounds 3-4, Al was maybe winning the exchanges in round 5 before khabib backed him against the cage and tripped him and got on his back.
Im trying to find the conor-holloway fight but that was a prelim fight in ufc fight night 26, 5 years ago, so a little hard to find the full fight instead of just highlights.
That's the fight where he tore his acl, so maybe that explains why he took the fight to the ground more? Harder to do stand up when your knee feels like buckling?
I know connor trains with gunnar nelson, who's a wrestling/bjj fighter. So it'd be interesting if he can turn the tables on khabib; has khabib ever been taken down before?

He`s not GSP with reactive TD you don`t see coming . Doesn`t cut the cage . Follows the opponent . Harder to trap the opponent against the cage if you only move fwd and not at angles .
