Regarding the so called robbery at UFC 167 I feel I need to add in my opinion.

The 10 Point Must system is the scoring system used in UFC and is sanctioned by IMMAF.
There is alot of inherent problems with this scoring system but when you look at how that system scores then you'll be able to see how this isnt really a robbery.

Sure I think Hendricks did more in the first round and hence I would have scored the fight 28-27 Hendricks but I do not rule out that several persons could have given the first round to GSP and hence giving the decision to GSP.

It doesnt matter how badly you damage you opponent in two rounds if you cant convince the judges to give you a 10-8 round. All rounds are judged seperatly without regard about the previous rounds and this is fair if you think about it because the other way would simply not make sense. For example if a fighter gets badly hit in round one and gets a bunch of bruises and cuts should this fighter now have to give back the same amount of damage in a later round to be able to even the scores? That would simply not make sense and it would promote a dangerous fighting style in my opinion.

TLDR Version
GSP won

Fully agree with that. I thought the fight was a robbery at first, but then after seeing the cards, I watched round 1 (the disputed round on the cards) again and it's easy to see how it could have gone either way.

I personally think judges should be more inclined to score those kind of rounds even, and only the clear ones should be split. Or see more 10-8 rounds. There was one round where there was a good shout to give Hendricks a 10-8, which would have seen him rightly win the fight overall.

Yeah, Dana uses and controls these guys like the McMahons do with pro wrestling. I guess its true, absolute power corrupts absolutely. They should unionize. Plus I think the UFC is losing some of its popularity, and Dana has to bear some of the blame for that.

You've also got to understand that the reason you're seeing the most competitive fights in every division is as a result of one overall power as the governing force.

Without that, and with splits, different bodies, promotional companies etc etc etc, you'll have the same situation as you do in boxing, where individual fighters and promoters decide who they/their fighter will face, and whether the fight is made to determine the best in the division, or because it's the best risk:reward ratio.

Pacquiao vs Mayweather would have been the biggest sporting even of the past decade if it'd happened at it's peak. But every fight fan lost out on that because Mayweather is his own boss.

With power does come corruption. But it works both ways. As it is now, UFC is in a good place. See how long that lasts when the cards are headlined by a belt holder vs someone he's cherry picked himself.
