UFC 1 - Ultimate Freedom Cab

Like the first UFC this is one stride in a marathon. Thanks to all weed warriors before me & gl to the future growers!

These are diesel ryder x hindu kush (autos) that started out as seed/dail in cab run but i culled the males too early & its now a bud run.

These girls are a bit stunted as i worked on getting better environment & ph'd water. I think i put the seeds in coco/ perlite mix on labor day weekend. That puts these ladies at around 7 weeks.

stealth

this cab is totally stealth. Runs silent with no smell.

It has a odor eliminating cfl that seems to be doing the job. I also have the exhaust going through a baffle box made from rigid insulation. Super easy to cut & make a light trap that allows good airflow. The idea being i can put ONA gel in the slots for odor control. Haven't had the need to. Also you can see the mouse traps, the ol' lady (non-smoker) can't stand mice & read that peppermint oil keeps them away, smells wonderful in the garage.

couple questions

couple questions

I live in Minnesota & its getting cold. At the moment its 40 out & the cab about 75 from the cfls. The intake is a low rpm fan (800 rpm with a 11 on the noise rating) & the out take is the same as the fan you see in the picture.

I would love to run this cab through the winter (-30) but would need to cut the fans down to nothing & supplement with CO2. Anyone ever seen a setup like that?

I keep the water warm with a fish tank heater & air stone on a timer.

It weird, the plant in the front of the cab shows signs of ph & perhaps cal problems but both have had the exact same the entire time. Is this a pheno issue?? the back plant has a bit broader leaves & has been very green the entire time.

as far as the co2 supplement i have yet to see anyone on here try much less pull it off on a small scale set up like yours or mine. I have been flirting with the idea of using a air quality monitor to read Co2 PPM and using a timer and the regulator valve to get it as close as possible. Problem is the air quality monitor runs almost 250 beans, at that rate your half way to a proper controller and this starts the dilemma... LOL!

But setting that aside please prove me wrong i would love to see someone try.

I would be flying by the seat of my pants. I do have a regulator valve i found at a garage sale but may just try the yeast sugar bottle thing on this run to see what happens.

from what i understand co2 supplement doesn't work within the 7500-10000 lumen range & if lumens do not add up i'm way under. I just need enough for them to breath.

i would assume that occurs because the area hasn't reached light saturation for ambient CO2 levels. How many bulbs are you running and how many lumens each? you look like your getting enough light from the shots you posted....

with that i would say spend your time mastering the enviroment to obtaina s close to 75 degrees as possible. Then worry about co2 later.. I wish i had a problem with it being too cold, its october and my house AC is running to keep ambient temps down.......

i think i have 7 23watt & 1 42 watt. The lumens are 1400 & 2400, if we get a much colder i may put in a couple more 42's.

If I try another run the incoming air at some point is going to be sub zero. It would be a seed run so if it doesn't go well it won't be to horrible. I have 10+ of the crosses & 10 each of the hindu kush & diesel ryder that all need seed runs.

i have an idea*light bulb above head turns on* put a cfl right in front of the intake, this will take the bite off that i need. Cfl spiral shape is perfect to mix the air up.

Hey, thats pretty decent, lol. Same way my vapor brothers vape works. it runs the air past a long stretch of hot ceramic element in a glass shaft. good luck with that!

temps in the 20's last night, cab temp this am 65 @ soil level, rigged up a quick cfl by the intake, will check at lunch.

Wondering how the plants will handle the cold air when the cab is open.

70 degrees at lunch.might put a normal bulb in to produce more heat at the intake.

Counted my bulbs, 8 23 watt &2 40 watt'ers now.

The heat is a stealth risk, if your standing near the cab you feel the warm air. Might have to wait till spring for the next run.

Looking good.
I use the sugar - yeast solution, I've written about it in my old grow thread (in the signature).
