two 500w led or one 900w led

for a 4x4 space, would like 16 small plants in that space. just confused because even the 300w leds say they cover an area of 4x3 same with 400w 500w 600w. then 900w says 4.5x3.5 coverage which is not a huge change from a 300w. so there is some misleading info i think and i wondered what would be best for a 4x4 area? maybe even four 300w? not sure....

Ive got 2 300 watt LEDs in a 3x3 tent and it covers it nicely. Had a 400 watt led in there but it was long and skinny and didn't cover the side area well. Since having my leds(600, 400, 300, 200 and 100 watts), I would say look at the dimensions of the fixture and add 6-10 inches to each side and that is its true coverage. But I'm new to the LEDs and maybe the sides do fine with less intense lighting. Not sure. But one hint I have recently learned is that seedlings don't like the LEDs at first. I popped 6 beans or so and they looked horrible under the LEDs but once I moved them to a flo, they started looking better. All my LEDs are from advanced led the DS series.

2 is always better than one especially with leds. You have more options available including if some of your plants are longer you can have two different heights in the tent or cab if needed.

You can also have them spaced out versus being a single panel which has its advantages as well.
