Turkish landrace ??

Raco,

R.Clarke:

"Quite variable - THC% : CBD% equals approx. 4:1 to 1:4
THCV% < CBG% and CBC% "

This is from "Cannabinoid Profiles of Cannabis from hashish-producing and marijuana-producing regions" Figure 4.6

"Turkish hashish varies widely in its THC:CBD profile. One piece will be high in THC and the next piece will be high in CBD" (Offcourse this does not apply for the Turkish Cannabis, because Cannabis for hashish was dried in the sun)

I love this book.

update

well well!! dont think theres much sativa in these seeds even though the bud it came from seemed sativa-ish from the pics one or two look like extreme indicas oh yeah i gave away two of the original 8 to a friend but dont worry ive got another 21 :joint: germing as we speak so i can explore the phenos also my friends are growing out about 50 so i should see all sides to this strain

the one on the top right looks to be an extreme indica
heres 18 ready to go

heres 3 more and a twilight

also got a couple of ghanis and one miss mud going in my yard two may do a cross if the ghanis look promising

thanks for the interest !!! i plan on growing at least about 50-60 with a few guerilla plots!!! im gonna busy come september
id send in 200 to seedbay for freebies but doubt it would be a good idea considering this is probably a wild unworked strain after ive tested ill be sure to make f2's with the best specimens if there anygood, im beginning to think that these are atleast 60 70 percent indica atleast (im no pro by any means though so cant really be sure of anything at this stage because im aware some plants can have strange traits) a couple of them have a lil purpling too so there will deffo be some purple phenos considering the cold nights in sept and oct im gonna take clones for inside when they are big enough too just incase they dont have enough time to finish outdoors so i can see there full potential

just thought id give a lil update aint got cam at mo will update with pics soon hadnt been to my dads only got ten plants left growing most of the turkish for a while had to rip out 6 males (when i got there my dad said look at all them buds which was great until i told him they were pollen sacks lol he wouldnt even beleive for like 20 mins) ive got 1 female and other 3 havent showed anysign of sex yet the leaves on them are HUGE deep chunk style nodes are widely spaced so yields gonna be small i think and the pistils on the female are the thinnest i have ever seen also , oh yeah my quickest flowering twilight got pollinated on a couple of buds so ill test them out next year im gonna wait until harvest before i make any turkish seeds because i still have plenty

didnt end up taking pics in the end because of camera situation , laziness and the fact my they were in my dads back yard the seeds i made were not mature i had to chop early due to my garden being overgrown with weed (wouldnt matter if i lived in the country but when u live in the middle of a crime ridden estate ur asking for it with as many going as i had) so kept 2 twilight trees going and one afghan and left one turkish (the most sativa leaning chopped it half way thru nov) to fully mature not expecting much really because there was not much resin on the buds but the plant in question fully matured and let me say it was the smoothest tastiest plant outta them all , reeked of pine and the buds were tiny clusters of resin sacs due to them not getting enouth light got bout 2 gram of a 4ft plant lol
i got a pic here of what a third of the girls looked like not my pic
only pic i could find of a turkish plant on the net as you can see the yield is minimal this pheno was least desirable

and heres a pic of my last little bit of twilight that was also grown in my yard

this year im gonna try and pull my finger out and select properly im sure i will find something desirable in the end

Many years ago there was a Turkish red hash on the market that was pretty similar to the red lebanese one, so I think Zamalito is right when he says Turkish strains could be similar to the lebanese ones even due to the short distance between the growing areas. Btw both the red hashes were very weak to me.

ive had red leb that has been very potent (not in the same boat as an afghan totally diff high) before but most ive had aint been very potent and i would say they are similar to leb too in that most plants have a cedar/pine smell too them , but also dont forget there methods of making hash are amongst the crudest and the turks and lebanese are notorious for contaminating there hash

elmanito

I had a Turkish landrace last year, but it was nothing special. The one plant i had was a male BTW, but pretty odorless.Kenevir is the Turkish word for marijuana

In Greece you can find varieties like this one (hybrid of Highland Thai x Red Lebanese), which are used for marijuana

from what i noticed when i first run them outdoors , out of 20 1 would smell like drug cannabis and the rest pretty much odourless light pine , the main problem with turkish genetics is males i roughly got 7-8 out of ten males :( was a noob back then ,,,,, the phenos ranged from compact kush style plants to foxtailing style sativas to straight rope (bit rarer) but all similar in odour, leaf shape and structure
another thing all the phenos shared was that they started flowering in sept

I spent 4-5 years in ankara turkey in the early 60s
we were told anything you want can be found at a Bazaar

now I know what the smell was in the open air bazaars. :ying:

Interesting thread!
Most of the stuff you buy in Turkey is indeed sativa. However, nowadays most of the stuff is total shwag, and usually not worth buying (in Istanbul anyways). It's way too seedy, sometimes brown, and generally not pleasant.
Some beans I've popped from some shwag were also auto flowering, and if cultivated correctly (this is the problem), it's nice stuff.

Here's a read about Turkish strains analysis if anyone is interested.
