Trying to replace tobacco, what else makes good blunt wraps?

How to smoke a bud like a joint.

Take a good sized bud, bigger and longer better. Pine cone shape works best, but I've done it with much smaller. The first time I saw this done was with a 4-5 g piece of Humboldtlocals OG kush. Take a thin nail and insert in the middle of the back wider end of the bud. Don't let the nail penetrate the front. So with the nail in the middle of the bud going almost to the tip of the front. Use your fingers and begin to firmly compress the bud around the nail. Just rotate the bud and apply pressure squeezing it with fingers for a few minutes. Use thumb, index and middle finger on both hands. Try to keep the shape of the bud intact, it should get a bit smaller and thinner. You should really compress the bud rupturing the oils on the surface making it almost hard, but don't apply too much pressure. Now take a lighter and light the front tip of the bud. Hold the flame to the tip for a while, like lighting a blunt that wont stay lit. After about 30 seconds or more blow on the tip and you should have it lit and cherried. Now pull out the nail and you have a chamber through the middle of the bud. Use both hands at first till the cherry is stable and smoke like a joint, pulling from the hole where the nail went in.
Now you can enjoy smoking a bud through a bud. Awesome!

man i'm stuck with the same problem. tobacco is some filthy shit. i hate cigs and tobacco and i find damn near all blunts burn to fast when compared to my long time friends, THE DUTCH MASTERS. but, i'm tired of that damn tobacco leaf. i don't do pipes and the vaporizer interests me but, i know i can't sit down and chief off a vaporizer for 20 minutes straight and watch tv. papers seem so, 70 80 ish. what's a smoker to do?

hmm, maybe a how to on turning leaf into wrap is in order? i've got cigar-making in my blood(the fermentation/drying shed lasted until the last major hurricane, survived over a 100 years!) but i never really partook, since the industry was long dead when i was born.

I know there's gotta be a way to deal with the nasty starches and chlorophyll in the leaf! come on guys, think!

i hear they are dissolvable in naptha... but that would pretty much ruin a leaf as a wrapper for me!

This is a pot growing site so I'm going to assume that most of you have access to pot leaves. Assuming you've found a nice one, like cracker displayed above, just dry/cure it the way you would with bud, but keep a bit more moisture. Seems to me only natural to want to use these as wraps..


Another alternative is to make your own help rolling papers, as big as you please, but that's a bit more work.

Thanks for the replies folks. Some here seem a bit confused so I will clarify:

I love blunts, love how they smoke, roll, etc. I just don't want them made of tobacco paper. Joint paper is awful fibrous and smoky stuff, and so it's not an acceptable alternative to me. Also, it's too flimsy, and using more layers would just make it worse. Pipes get icky not because they are dirty, but rather I mean they get icky as you reach the end of the bowl(a problem I rarely have with blunts).

Glass blunts sound interesting, but it's still not quite what I'm after. I may still try one though. Not sure where to get banana leaf either. I'm definitely willing to process other plant materials into paper. I'll need to learn how, but it may be worth it if I can find an acceptable alternative.

grow your own natural tobacco, so much healthier than any processed tobacco product. Only thing is if you are going to use them as blunt wraps don't dry the tobacco leaves normally, instead place them on top of each other in a pile then get the biggest leaves and wrap them around the outside of the bunch. Now, hang that whole thing to dry but now and then (twice a week) hang the lot over some steam till you can see the outer leaves taking up the moisture, do so for 30 seconds then back to drying. Once you have done this maybe 5 times leave them to dry for a few days them open up the bunch. The leaves in the middle should be dry yet supple enough to roll with unlike the outside one's that will just crack.

depends on the vape ... i get at least a dozen hits from one vape session, but i always lose count after the first 6 or so.
