looking at this whole thing in a dem verses rep thing is a waste of time and energy. don't you see, its a set up, who ever is in power pushes the big state agenda while the other side takes a high stand and postures and posses, talking about human rights, liberty, peace and justice, then elections come and the rolls get switched around, now its the other side war mongering and pushing mass surveillance, mass incarceration for profit and so on, while the other side now has its guys taking "our" side. its all a big game, in the end the agenda of the big lobbyists moves forward step by step. some times they will even take a small step back, but only for a while, memories are short, if it didnt pass into law 5 years ago, they try again and again, till they can some how fool enough people to get what they want.

yeah I remember one senator voting against Patriot Act, but then once elected prez he passed NDAA = National Detention Authorization Act. . . wtf ?

yeah it is a fucking farce and a shell-game,

too bad most people don't catch it.

Moderate? Piss on the moderate. Where is the objective mind?

...................
I believe politics should be a matter of deal making..consensus and compromise...keep hardliners on staff and a moderate in charge.
Nowadays we need a godamn professional interventionist to get our politicians to agree on anything other than Congressional pay hikes.

good morning folks, the latest mess of the day
trump apparently revealed classified data to the russians during that closed door meeting of a few days ago
not clear what the info was, but an uproar has ensued, the republican senators having another 'what do we do about him?' meeting
i do get the vibe that the powers that be are getting tired of the regular drama

My pop said a number of things that stuck with me not the least of which was it's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt

He's gonna resign. No way is he gonna make it. I really think Subrob is right. I don't know about him blaming it on health issues but there's no way he's got the intestinal fortitude to survive this job.

Love the line about the desk job at the lollypop guild.

Sessions said “good people don’t smoke marijuana.” Well Beauregard, good people don’t lock up non-violent offenders and throw away the key.

I heard of Sessions referred to a munchkin a few years back. Sure looks like an elf tho, like he posed for the pic on the box!

As for locking up non violent offenders, its all in the plan folks-

"Upon Trump’s election, private prison stocks spiked immediately, as investors speculated that demand for prison beds would rebound and perhaps surpass earlier levels."

i have thought that for years. the longer the "war on drugs" drags on, the more young people & people of color will be arrested & imprisoned. the more of them imprisoned, the more of them that cannot vote, thereby ensuring that more political power remains in the hands of mostly older white folks with the $$$ to hire good lawyers for THEIR kids.

It's Trump's jobs & infrastructure program, with being a prisoner the shittiest job of all. It'll fall hardest on poor & minority communities, of course. It always does. Don't expect the Trump Admin to go after white collar crime in any significant way.

Prepare for a shitstorm

Prepare for a shitstorm

Things are unfolding fast. It's actually gotten so bad that Republicans are worrying that Trump will take them all down with him. Some Democrats have decided that it's in their party's best interest that Trump stay in office because his insanity taints the whole Republican party.

You might have heard/read that the US is considering banning airline passengers from bringing laptop computers into the cabin. In his White House meeting with Russian Prime Minister Lavrov and Ambassador Kislyak, Trump boasted that, “I get great intel. I have people brief me on great intel every day,”. Trump then gave out enough information on this Islamic State laptop bomb threat that Russian intelligence should be able to figure out the original source of the information (Israel?) and people and methods involved. As President, Trump has the authority to declassify any information, but this is a very significant security breach. Already one European country is considering no longer sharing intelligence with the US because the Trump administration can't be trusted.

In the past week, Trump has possibly committed 17 counts of 6 separate crimes.

At the end of this week, Trump will travel to Europe for a NATO meeting. Organizers of this NATO event have urged participants to alter their presentations so to cater to Donald's psychological quirks. Presentations are limited to only 4 minutes so as not to exceed Trump's notoriously short attention span. And presenters are urged to give their presentations pizaz with lots of graphics to help Donald focus.

Several grand juries in the Eastern District Court of Virginia have been investigating the Trump/Kremlin connection. It's now reported that hearings unrelated to Trump have been postponed or rescheduled in order to free up time for the circus that is unfolding. Word has it that courts have agreed to law enforcement taking a number of subjects into custody. The rumor is that this will begin while President Trump is away in Europe.

We think alike. You and I and others here see though that veil. Those in charge are able to selectively pick who they prosecute. You nailed the money thing because the courts have shown leniency to rich kids that never learned right from wrong. Pay to play either way but the sad thing is the poorest pay the most

Exactly! Jobs Jobs Jobs !!! Wanna grow pot? we have a job for you!

I don’t expect Trump to go after white collar crime
….…I look for an executive order to make it legal !!!

The party of no if I remember right.

I totally spaced out on answering you earlier. You were right Nixon wasn't impeached but resigned. I should have said the impeachment process didn't do any good and I don't think it will in this case. Toxic Hippie hit the nail with his answer so I went back to show I appreciate the conversation although i failed to acknowledge it at the time.

Lastly, I've heard Sessions say there is a lot of money surrounding marijuana.
He's right.
Forfeiture and prison time will prove that statement many times over.

they are coming down on him like a ton of bricks and then go and leak every detail openly in the press? seems a strange way to keep things under wraps to write news stories detailing it all, lol. Trump might have mentioned it to Lavrov, but who leaked it to the whole world i wonder? if they didnt leak it to the press, no terrorist would be the wiser, but now they know. not taking sides, but this is weird. looks like he is being betrayed by someone really close to him.

diversion drama perhaps?

don't let the left hand know what the right is shoveling

Everyone who works for Trump is finding their reputation and career destroyed. They'll turn on him like hungry rats.

you hit the nail on the head...at the end of the day whomever is leaking info(more than likely multiple sources) is doing so to save their own dignity. more importantly when push comes to shove theyll be able to say i did what i could.

trump after he leaves office (whenever that happens) when all is said and done hell go back to a lavish lifestyle and the people that worked for him will have a very hard time finding work.

Erick Erickson: ‘I Know One of the Sources’ of WaPo Story — It’s Even Worse Than Reported

by Aidan McLaughlin | 11:17 am, May 16th, 2017

Conservative commentator Erick Erickson said he knows — and trusts — one of the sources of the Washington Post story alleging President Donald Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian officials.

In a blog post on Erickson’s website The Resurgent, the writer was careful to note that he is often skeptical of salacious reports bashing Trump, before revealing the following:

" What sets this story apart for me, at least, is that I know one of the sources. And the source is solidly supportive of President Trump, or at least has been and was during Campaign 2016. But the President will not take any internal criticism, no matter how politely it is given. He does not want advice, cannot be corrected, and is too insecure to see any constructive feedback as anything other than an attack."

Erickson went on to say that even supporters of the president within the White House are often compelled to leak information to the press in the hopes that “the intense blowback gives the President a swift kick in the butt.”

Erickson also seemed to confirm reports that what Trump actually did was worse than what was described in the Washington Post story:

"I am told that what the President did is actually far worse than what is being reported. The President does not seem to realize or appreciate that his bragging can undermine relationships with our allies and with human intelligence sources. He also does not seem to appreciate that his loose lips can get valuable assets in the field killed."

Erickson concluded the post by noting: “I treat this story very seriously because I know just how credible, competent, and serious — as well as seriously pro-Trump, at least one of the sources is.”

the dangerous part, he has a certain immunity from prosecution at the moment
that will end when he's out, and that is going to make for some sticky complications since he doesn't look like he'll cooperate
watergate was a joke compared to what's happening now

New York State is preparing a RICO case against the Trumps (Tiffany excepted). The presidential power of pardon only applies to federal charges. Donald can't fire state attorneys either.
