There is no way I can possibly tell you what you'll be getting from Social Security in 2046, sll I can say with anyy certainty is that it will be no more then 80% of what you would be getting if you were getting it now if something isn't done now because by that point the trustfund would be entirely gone and all benefits would be paid based on the FICA payments coming in from workers at that point in time which only covers about 80% at current levels. Unfortunately there is no telling how big the workforce will be becaus people of your and younger generations are having leess childrn and that means a smaller future workforce which in turn means even less being paid in to cover current beneficiaries.
Also no, I won't accept any responsibility for how it is now since I'm part of the population that has been screaming for Social Security reform and being ignored by politicians for decades. The longer they keep putting it off the harder it will be to fix and the most likely necessary fixes will be less acceptable to people. I did everything I was supposed to do as my part of the Social Contract that is Social Security. From when I startedd working at age 13 until I became disabled and eligable for SSDI in my 50's I was taxed for the full amount of 6.5% on every dollar I earned and my employers were taxed for a matching amount of 6.5% As opposed to people like Elon Musk who only ever paid on the first $176,000 which he probably made that much in one week. Meaning the other 51 weeks of the year he paid zip. So if you want to blame someone either blam people of your generation allowing population growth to deecline, or blame politicians who do nothing because they know whatever they do some won't like it or blame everyone making more then $176,000 for not paying in their fair share. I can even be held acountable for the living longer thing because I haven't reached my 70's yet and chances ar better then not I never will.
