Stuff like this even though it is minor in the grand scheme of things should be grounds for automatic expulsion from office upon conviction or guilty plea. We need to adopt a zero tolerance policy against crimes commited by government representatives of the public. I don't care what party they belong to Democrat, Republican or Independent, there is no room for any criminal behavior minor or major while in public office. If we ever hope to see an end to this idiotic sort of behavior then we need to hold our representatives to a much higher standard. If you are elected to public office and can not avoid the temptation to commit any crime big or small then you simply are not qualified to hold office at any level but most especially at the Federal level.what a child.

Not only that but here lately it seems that week after week more cases are coming to light where these Justices decide on what is and isn't legal for us and yet are guilty of trying to hide clear cases of bas in exchange for "gifts" that represent very large sums of money. It is bad enough that the system is so corrupted that we've come to accept bribery by big money in the executive and legislative branches as standard operating procedure but if we continue to look the other way and allow the same behavior in the branch that decides what is and isn't legal then all hope of the system ever being fixed is lost.

I'm not sure what you are refering to/about when you talk about people shouldn't get in trouble for preventing the death of innocent people. I can't think of any single time Trump did anything to prevent the death of innocent people. In fact it's not too hard to argue that Trump in the course of his Presidency was resposible for the deaths of about a million innocent people when you consider the poor leadership he demonstrated during his adminisration's response to the pandemic.

I would suggest that the information they got was the main reason for the proffers that have been in the news the past week or so. I would imagine that the emails and texts they got from Clark's and Eastman's phones represent the necessary physical evidence they would need to have in order to be able to tell if the things people were saying in their proffer sessions were truthful or not. If one doesn't have the evidence to reveal a lie then a proffer agreement is pretty useless.
