i agree, tho i would make exceptions for some (actual most) liberals
Oh so people like the Chaney's who you feel are responsible for the death of 1000's would get a pass as long as they came around to you're way of thinking, but people whose only ral crime was wanting to help the poor and marginalized you would still see put to death simply because you don't agree with their desire to help the less fortunate? That's pretty pathetic on your part but I'm not surprise that's the view you would take..

Wait, isn’t contesting an election election denial?
No, election denial is when you contest an election based on nothing but rumors that you yourself spread and then after numerous recounts, investigations by your own DOJ and Homeland Security turn up no evidence and you lose dozens of cases in court many with judges you appointed, but you still claim the election was stolen.

And its a lifestyle that will easily run you into the ground. Complete self reliance is stressful and time consuming and the reality shows fool people into thinking its not.
I'd just assume watch Jeremiah Johnson and sip cocoa
Good movie and an excellent example of true fully off grid living. Of course that was based on a time when there wasn't much of a grid to get off of.

True enough, I'll settle for semi off grid,I live in the country with no direct neighbours ,nobody bothers us,and we still have electricity and a septic tank. Haven't locked the doors in 30 years.
One of the many truths of life in the bush aside from the romanticizing of leaving behind the chaos, is that you're that much more visible and 'known' from the air, and on the trail.

On a street corner in LA or Seattle, among the masses, no one knows who you are, and few care. In the bush, there's almost zero anonymity.

Out in the bush, your presence stands out like a red stone in a bowl of popcorn.

At least one off-grid bush-dweller I know has, for years, said, "Time to move further into the bush."

Once upon a time, long ago (over 40 years now), in remote Western Alaska there was an area near a thermal spring, a mostly underground spring. A fellow had taken an interest in it, and eventually moved there. Steam from the ground to run a generator(s), heat for greenhouses, home heat, etc. no one had lived there.

Pilots noted the presence. People moved in and built in the area after that first fellow.
.
It's like motorhomes in remote gravel pits. Almost as soon as one parks there, even if it had been vacant up until that time, others come to park, and often surprisingly close to each other, often in a circle. A weird phenomenon, for sure. But a phenomenon, nonetheless.

"Go to remote places of beauty and seek out the masses one wanted left behind." Again, weird as hell.

Like i said this country has developed a perverse fear of aging
Imagine how beautiful dolly parton would have been if she had just aged naturally without getting a bunch of plastic surgery and a fake ass

Haven't avoided aging at all. Embracing the final trail home, as it were. But whoever called this 'the golden years' needs the shit kicked out of them for poor taste in bad humor.

Hi Moose, I think I remember you had some medical issue to attend to ,I could be mistaken if I am ,please excuse me,if you did I hope it worked out the best.

Yeah semi off grid is much more doable but still requires a decent investment up front to get it running right. Semi off grid you're just taking care of utilities yourself and maybe providing some of your own food. To me complete off grid living means you do everything yourself which requires a good bit of carpentry, wood milling, electrical/plumbing knowledge, food preservation, properly processing animal skins, blacksmithing, etc.
I know a lot about all that except for the carpentry, wood milling, electrical/plumbing knowledge, food preservation, properly processing animal skins, blacksmithing, etc.

Still pending.

Cancelled one risky but potential spine surgery when the surgeon appeared to be a flake, and currently talking with spine clinics in both LA and Seattle.

In a separate issue, the tumor I consulted about the other day is non-operable, as of the surgeon's opinion a couple days ago. Might seek a second opinion on that, as the ADT for the cancer is a no-go for me for numerous reasons, to include glucose levels potentially getting skewed by the drugs in reference, to added depression (both are well known side-effects to ADT), among other known side-effects, and the scam that Wall St. runs re. a drug (series of drugs) that are often over 50 years old, but for which they keep patents fresh and shiny for profiteering sake by screwing with the time-release component, leaving a single three-month injection of Lupron (as one example) being billed initially at between $29,000 and $38,000 per shot before negotiated and contractual agreed in-network pricing.

My insurance would cover it, but I won't do that. It's extortion at its worst.

"Thanks, corporatist Amerika."

Even if there were no disconcerting significant side-effects, the Wall St./Pharmaceutical scam would be enough to say "Fuck you." As I -don't- deal with extortionist vultures, no matter the cost.

Though none of that is on point to the bush comment.

Why LA? Seattle has probably the most advanced medical community in the country
Bring money though because that state is hilariously expensive. Good weed though
