Trump thread part 2 (Or anything else we want to talk about that's ridiculous in politics today)

It only becomes a talking point when someone else does it. It should never matter who you are but as we can see there are different laws depending on how much wealth/power one has. Why people support any of these crooks is mindblowing.

I was reading an opinion piece over on CNN (Look at that. A news origination that differentiates between opinion and fact. Who knew??) and the author was opining on how the rest of the world has zero problems holding their elected officials accountable for their crimes in office. That America is the only democracy that seems to have this problem.

75 other countries have prosecuted former leaders and jailed them for their crimes, including several close allies like Israel, France, and South Korea.

Maybe the question We the People should be asking is, "Why has it taken so long?"
Well on at least one of thos I think the writer of that opinion was kind of Overlooking something, I'm not sure who he was refering to with Israel obviously someone in the past. When looking at Israel currently though they seem almost identical to the US as far as Benjamin Netanyahu

A big part of the problem here in the US is just perception caused by the media coverage. So many outlets cover every single nuance and in many cases overdramatize it to boost ratings that we get this long drawn out process and the public gets to the point of why hasn't anything been done yet? All the while the DOJ and various other legal entities are all working the cases dilligently in the background and presumably will hold Trump accountable.

I think another factor also is Trump has had such a long history of getting away with his crimes dating back to when he first went into business with his father, earning him the title of Teflon Don, that part of the slowness of his accountability is investigators trying to develop rock solod cases that he can squirm his way out of.

Finally let's not overlook how Trump's perhaps only real talent is working the system to delay and postpone and drag things out all with the intent of trying to get people to the point of thinking there is no real substance otherwise he would have been indicted by now. Fortunately for justice Trump hasn't been as successful with his delay tactics lately and many of the filings he's made in the past year or so got ruled against relatively quickly.

There really hasn't been a problem with holding leaders accountable I can think of several such as Nixon, Agnew, Edwards, Blagojevich. Now sure most of them didn't go to jail and were just forced to resign and never sought office again. Which really is good enough for most people. I think it's safe to say that if Trump admitted his guilt and gave up trying to regain the Whte House the vast majority would take that as a win for justice. That hasn't been the case with Trump though and he's demonstrated there is no depth he'll not sink to in order to hold onto his shot at power. I think it also fair to note that while past leaders have done things people objectd to and wished they might be punished most never actually did things that could be proven to be illegal until Trump which is why we have the matter of all of this being unprescedented. Trump's luck has run out though and I think before long we will have some precedent to look to so if anyone else wants to try to play the system in the future hopefully it will move faster?

i hope that you are right, HempKat! i'd like to see some pre-emptive strikes hitting BEFORE this next election, given the attitude on display by many in the GOP upper echelons... these fuckers need to look at what is happening and say "you know, the rules are there for a reason, and we ALL are subject to them...or else."

YOU'RE ALIVE!!! PRAISE FSM!!!!!

After Trump's latest tantrum, I'm starting to think he wants to be incarcerated.

It's not going to take much of an argument to convince a judge that Trump is inciting violence and needs to be held. Especially after the envelope with white powder showed up at Bragg's office. And it's gotta be helping Jack Smith to boot.

Hopefully this helps America cope with the phobia of holding our so called "leaders" accountable for their actions.

You know, Trump really might make America great again yet, in his own fucked up way. :ROFLMAO:

Looking forward to a pretty good week coming up.

The wacko will be in Waco making comments that get him in even deeper shit than he already is.
Next he will face criminal charges in NY. Lock him up.

Trump and people like him won't have anyone waiting for them.
he will get a reception when he dies. there will be a pitchfork and a big fucking pile of coal waiting for him in the furnaces of hell. "get to work, you ignorant piece of shit!" he'll have company. his dad will probably be there, and a few lawyers that enabled the two in their crime spree...

Well as much as I'd love to see something that could be called pre-emptive by today's standards that might be a bit much to hope for. I'd be happy if things moved as fast as they did with Nixon. Although we really don't know how fast that would have moved had Ford not pardon him. I just remember that between the time he moved out and when Ford pardoned him, there was already a lot of talk circulation of Nixion spending his retirement in one of the Club Fed Prisons that existed back then and that was kind of amazing looking back on it because I was a 14 year old pot smoking hippy more interested in getting high and girls then anything else. So looking back I'm almost amazed I had any awareness of what was going on in the political world. Then again it was all so shocking what Nixon did, Presidents just didn't behave like that.

Imagine what the Public reaction would have been like if the Trump Presidency and everything he dd/ is still doing, happened back then? Oddly those days are what many think of as the age when America was truely great. Surely if America was still like that and Trump tried even half of what he's done he would have been tarred and feathered as they used to say.

You know what I find interesting, at the end of the social media post that Trump made, which likely led to the death threats against the Manhattan DA trump said, “Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely hates the USA!” If you took that last line and presented it without identifying who said it, I bet the vast majority, even some of his most hardcore supporters, would think that was someone talking about Trump. Of course that's only because most of us are well aware that when Trump attacks someone like that he's really just projecting.

if The Chump does something good, you can bet your life that it was an accident, or he figured an angle to make money from it....there isn't a single socially redeeming value in his entire body.
