I use a combination of Jasmine, Lavender, Chamomile, Catnip and Skullcap (when I have them) for a tea.

A lot of herbs can promote sleep, even St. Johns wort and Hops (believe it or not)

Some herbs for you to read up on:

Californian Poppy
Catnip
Chamomile
Hops
Jamaican Dogwood
Lavender
Lemon balm
Passionflower
Skullcap
St John's wort
Valerian
Young Pine or Fir needles
Wild Lettuce

I haven't yet tried Jamaican Dogwood, but from what I've been told, it's a very effective sedative.

I agree with VOS.

Get up early and be productive!

In my case that means working my ass off all day and pass out by 8-9PM. Up by 4:45 to repeat the cycle.

I sleep great....and shit....I even have cool lucid dreams to boot....haaaaaaaaa!

Thanks for your detailed post Indicad2006, you've given me some thoughts to mull over :chin:

You think a lava lamp would be too bright to have on at night? I just can't see myself using only candles every night....I mean how do you skin up a joint by candlelight?

Or do you have a few massive candles positioned around your room?

ive been in a terrible habit of staying up late, sleeping late. i usually fall asleep by 2:30- 3am. sleep till 11:30 , rinse and repeat.

its sucks, i feel extra lazy in the winter. the cold weather makes me just wanna take a hot shower and go to bed.

Tamazepam works wonders... course you gotta get a perscription...

i found that anti-histimines such as bendryl work quite well in producing a nice natural sleep.

Gangabiss - Yes a lavalight would be too bright at night. You basically don't want any artifical light going on, which would decrease or shutdown your melatonin production... causing you to have less than great sleep.

I'm telling you. I have never felt SO good in my life these last 3-4 weeks. As long as I put on the candles at 7... I guess I'm just producing a lot of melatonin, which ends up using up some of your serotonin so you don't have a high level of serotonin (which is actually what depression is, not the other way around).

I can do many things by candlelight. Just get the long stick candles, so the flame is visible. Not the candles that are glass.

If I have caffeine later in the day its hard for me to sleep, and my quality is worse. But if I get good sleep, I feel so good. Maybe I'll make a big post on this, if I keep noticing this result. I've tried many things in life, and to think its simple. Getting enough sleep, AND getting it at the right time of the night.

Thanks man I'll have to pick up a big pack of candles from somewhere.

I've been using cannabutter these past few days to get me to sleep. I just eat a chunk of cake and about 2-3 hours later my eyes feel really heavy, I start nodding off while sitting at the computer and then all I want to do is crawl into bed :joint:

But I don't have much of that left..

as someone already said.. melatonin. have a few tokes after you take it and your in another world dude.. but it really does work, it doesnt force you to sleep, it signals your brain that your getting tired basically, and less is more, if you take like 5+ mg its supposed to not work at all, if anything it will produce a placebo effect, buy the 1mg sublingual pills from gnc.

works great, i used to have trouble sleeping all the time.. i took these for two weeks like it said on the bottle and i had no real problems anymore after that, other than my fucking roomate keeping me awake.

I wouldn't buy melatonin. When you take it regularly you actually stop production of your own natural melatonin. If you want more melatonin, stop using artificial lights all the time so your body will make it. You'll feel better too.. trust me.

indicad2006 right, I don't think you want to play around with hormones which melatonin is.

I suggest you just get it from your diet such as oats corn, rice and also eat a lot of good fats because NOTHING is going to give you a lot of hormones(melatonin) if you don't have it being produced in large amounts and fats make hormones. Eating different nuts daily will help this and they also help you sleep WONDERFUL. Also, lower your lights and do something like reading with a relaxing music with no words(unless you want to learn a new language)that will get your brain going.

This works good to put you to sleep BUT it also is a trick to get you to learn and memorize something faster because your brain organizes things in sleep mode and being that the last thing you were doing is so close to your sleep cycle it will be the first thing dealt with. This is the reason why you will have a dream about something that you just watched on tv but in a way that correlates to your life. Peace.

its not meant to be used every night, i used it for seasonal sleep problems, the sun setting earlier threw off my internal clock.. taking melatonin for like 2 or so weeks helps your body get back in that grooove by elevating the levels at the same time every day, after two to three weeks its not good to keep using..

but yeah

Melatonin makes your dreams trippy I highly recommend.

that is very true. ive had some weird ass dreams after smoking and taking melatonin, it puts you into a very trippy mood. might aswell try it just for shits one night..

Maybe it's time to take a break and let your body/mind get back it's natural rythm.

Cannabis has major influences on the Pineal, this is the base of your biological clock.

Passion fruit is used in India, Africa and South America as a concentrated juice or syrup that works wonderfully well and tastes delicious as well as being healthy for you. I hate pharmies and if you have serious trouble sleeping, you should contact some physician that will give you natural options, sleeping pills are very scary alot of people die from overdoses and careless docs.
I love sleeping and suffer from anxiety and sometimes I can't sleep, so I feel for ya, hope you find a solution. I know that if I start smoking early and puff several times throughout the day, by the end of the day I'm pretty tired.
good luck
