Propagation update >>> the mother plant , the clones in the cloner showing positive signals and the ones in the cubes also hanging no solid results yet though ... slow
Iāve got about 10 (6 in the cloner with roots) and 4 that are cupped up and ready to go for my next grow
Iām not consistently good at it either I try different methods ..Lately Iāve been liking the Rockwool cubes ..I had a hard time with the Tropicana cherry in oxygen cloner tried 3Ć & 3 failuresJust curious- do you clone in 2 substrates just for increased probability of success? Might have to try that. Cloning is not something I'm consistently good at. Seem to have my best % in just perlite + water

I use an ezcloner 128 site and have been getting better and better results with itā¦this clone run Iām doing now I put in 81 cuttings and have taken out 51 so far and put into cupsā¦All the rest have rootsā¦tomorrow I will put the rest in cupsā¦usually by now Iāll have quite a few die from soft root tissue (mushy)ā¦so Iāve been using an 80% to 20% RO to tap water ratio in the cloner but this time I added rooting gel at 2ml a gallon to the cloner water instead of dipping the cuttings in the gelā¦and that made an amazing differenceā¦Iāve been trying so many different ways of improving my success in cloning and this seems to be the best for me right nowIām not consistently good at it either I try different methods ..Lately Iāve been liking the Rockwool cubes ..I had a hard time with the Tropicana cherry in oxygen cloner tried 3Ć & 3 failures
Oh, I definitely know the feelingThat makes me feel better about the ~20 snips I've murdered in the last few months trying to keep a girl I like lol

Iām switching over to rock wool cubes ā¦ itās simple and itās a passive systemI cannot stress the importance of bleaching the cloners out between uses enough. I even have an issue right now as I think the pump I used was not soaked. When finished I normally dump the rez and fill with tap and a good pour of bleach and let it run for a few days then dump it and clean. This cleans out the pvc tubing, pump and misters in addition to the unit. I also replace collars and even net cups.
This round its taking forever to root but everything aside from this 97 NY Blueberry had roots so thats good. I re cut it re dipped it and its still going. Its amazing that its still green and alive after over a month in there too.
Interesting on the cloning get but thats expensive. I saw clonex solution that I might try but normally I just use RO ~200 ppm calmag and ~250ppm maxibloom dip in clonex and run it starting at 5.8. This time I added a bit of h202 after I started having no roots might have helped. I also prefer to use a short cycle timer it keeps the rez temp down and lets them get more air. 1 min on and 3 off.

RW is good stuff. I seem to always have algae issues but I never fill up a tray so that is one reason.Iām switching over to rock wool cubes ā¦ itās simple and itās a passive system
Finally! Ha hashe looks great! Awesome colour and covered in trichs......best of luck with the re-veg she's worth the agro by the look of her.
I pour the clonex in a separate container, do NOT dip the cut in the bottle of clonex
I can't express that enough.
I use rockwoolm also, and the only time I had algae was when I was running LED's. I switched back to using CFL's and no more algae. I can't explain the science of that, but that was my experience.RW is good stuff. I seem to always have algae issues but I never fill up a tray so that is one reason.
Wait, why? Just to keep the bottle sanitary or something with the cloning process?I pour the clonex in a separate container, do NOT dip the cut in the bottle of clonex
Yes, we learn the hard way, the way I preferWait, why? Just to keep the bottle sanitary or something with the cloning process?
That sounds like a good solution. My solution was, to replace the M@rs Led's with CFL's. CFL's were what I used before LED's. LED's never worked for me, maybe it's my fault. I'm happy doing it my way, that's all.@Jellyfish its probably due to the lower light levels. If you can keep light from hitting the rockwool, the algae can't grow. My suggestion is a little square of black&white poly. Cut to fit your block, then cut a hole in center, and 1 slit from the hole out to the edge. Then position on the block white side up. If you position it before taking the clone the slit isnt needed, but it helps if the clone is already in place. You can scale it up or down to fit any size block.
