Tricky Indoor SOG questions

Hey guys its been a cpl yrs and my friend is trying to refresh his memory. He has a 4x8 tent with 1600 watts total (2 600w HPS and 1 400w) with a vortex inline fan for exhaust that will be pumped into a big 6 inch filter outside the room. So now numbers... planning on 9 per sq ft in party cups. Soil will be promix supplemented with some extra vermeculite and perilite and plan on fertilising with fox farm to keep it simple. My buddy will use washer trays in the bottom of the tent so he can flood and drain to water and feed effeciently. As far as genetics, friend will be using some (C99 x Deep Chunk) x White Rhino he has put back since clones are not available. He knows clones work better for SOG however since its all one strain and mostly indica, canopy should be decently even and can be evened out by moving shorter and taller to similar trays and lowering/raising lights.

So thats the story, now for questions. This is a little trickier being seed SOG than clone SOG as friend has done before. Wondering what hours would be optimal for veg from seed for a good SOG. Start with 12/12 and they will immediately bud after seedling stage? Friend would usually veg at 18/6 for one wk after clones were transplanted then do the flip. But not sure what would work best for seed... So if any of you seasoned SOG growers might have some helpful advice to offer, please do

I appreciate your question, as I am just moving my clones to pots to do what
amounts to an SOG. AK-47 clones. This is only my second serious grow, with
these clones being taken from femmed photo-period seeds while my first crop,
auto-flowers, grew to completion.

I suppose that I will switch (from 24/0) to 18/6.

This will be good for the bills.
