a major diversion for me...pulling my head out of my tent long enough to check some other gear out.

got my beans last december drop, figured out a way to keep the mothers i have without warehousing them...to make room for my Chemdog IBL sprouts.

initially i germed two seed...both no good; then four more in beer cups.

two were vigorous and deemed to be male, while one was apparently normal, and the last was and is a runt/dwarf?

still have four beans on lockdown.

stay fly!

so, it's been awhile since starting this thread, alot has happened...not all good.
had some insect problems that didn't help, was piddling around with the beercup thing, and you know...life happened.

so long story short, 2 males, one undecided, one dead.

kept both males, one went to reside with some girls, other in veg stasis.

male 1

this plant really stunk, no need to even touch it, it reeked. decided to use as some added power to white widow, and to see if my 'coma' plant could help stabilize alluded tendencies to hermie.

the second male is confined to the mothership for now.

the undecided plant, well, i've been trying various methods to clone this plant as i believe it be female, yet no cuts have stricken roots.
i'm really frustrated because this is a triploid and i would like to get those genes into my rotation.

and

i cut branches from that male and am collecting pollen for the undecided if it turns out female...

alright, that was getting on plane, i'll trim the tabs as we go.

Hopefully the unknown is indeed female! That 'tripodal' male looks pretty sweet, it just grew like that on it's own? Nice!

no, the triploid is going to be female!
let's all chant in unison...Female...Female...Fe male.

the number one male is already doing the dirty with two other strains as i type.

here look:

upper left corner, sharing his maleness with all the good girls.
the male on the right side was the cutting to sex from male #1.

the nice girls enjoying his prescence are White Widow and my undetermined 'Indicoma' (Johnny B) strain.

The Widow is going on hiatus, wanted to strengthen or embellish before ending her three year run.

the 'Coma', my go to girl, has been asking where babies come from, so i thought i'd show her.
:blowbubbles:

they are very pregnant.

oh shoot! we were talking about Chemdog...ok...the last undetermined example is a triploid and doesn't take to cloning.
i've taken so many cuts she is naked from the ninth node down.
such a sexy stalk.

i've determined to force self pollination using colloidal silver.

now thats a shrubbery..

yeah baby! she should have been a fucking hedge by now!:ying:
i was wondering if all that time had just vanished into a cloud of smoke...but you're still there with the match.

want a fresh bucket of popcorn? just got a bunch off my last grow!:tiphat:

i don't think they hermie that bad, i just finished up my second run of chem ibl from clone and didn't get a single seed. i didn't get any hermies the first grow either except when i revegged them, wich always happens when i reveg...

i think a lot of people bought up his seed thinking it was gonna be other worldly and just inebriatic pot, and didn't put much thought into how finicky it may be. while it might hermie in lazy grows with light leaks and stress, it seems to do just as good as anything as long as your grow room is sealed tight from light and your plants are stress free.

i'm not really a fan of all the variation i had in my plants, every plant was completely different, but they were all very potent, and one was also very tasty. unfortunately i had one pheno with all the taste and not so much sugar, then another pheno that was just white with trich's but smelled like a wet moldy rag with lemons, the rest were sort of average in both respects, but potency was high with all of them, i had many people say it was the best they have ever smoked, but we don't see homegrown around here ever, so id say thats the explanation. i really wish i could have gotten a pheno with the potency and smell of the chem d, but also that super white coating of sugar that the D clone has and i had on another pheno, if i had found that actual "chem d" pheno i would have kept the strain but i just started my mothers flowering last week and will be done with the strain altogether after that...moving onto fruitier genetics...

gracias senorsloth, it was alluded to be hermie...have yet to get one female certified, so as far as i know it could happen...and it could happen that sharing genes from my supremely stable 'coma' eleminates or reduces said tendencies.

did you also have problems cloning your Chemdog?

see, it is not just hermie tendencies i want to mitigate. 'coma' is so resiliant, easy to clone, hardy, handles stress like poker player, & gives great head, i want that trait instilled into the progeny.

thank you for visiting, hope i have better consequences to report than you had.

Peace

no, actually it's the fastest rooter of my strains...well all but one pheno, the really sugary one that doesn't taste great, i went 11 weeks last round, this time i may go longer to see if i can push some real stink from them...they don't smell much till about week 9, then they start to pick up. the high is really great, strong, overpowering...just about the strongest i have smoked, but a complex high, the kind that you can smoke a few hits and still have a decent day, but down a whole bowl and it's time for a drooling naptime... i just wish i could have gotten all the best features in one plant, and maybe a little more stability for 180 bucks for 10 seeds....

well this sounds favorable! i'm still trying to clone my best example, and intent on dusting her with pollen from one or both of the males that showed.
think i'll pop the last four beans and try to multiply chances of retaining ibl status. can't claim ibl by dusting different strains...?
for my $180 i'd want to retain the genes to play with.

thanx senorsloth... to have such an extraordinary opportunity has me stoked.

My bad! Female! Yes!
:D
Sounds like an interesting strain to grow, pricey beans though!
But hey, pricey can still be well worth it!

I'm off to search for smoke reports, haha. I'll be watching this thread!

this is the triploid going into bondage. other than one male in veg, this is the only survivor of the borg that wiped out my perpetual...

if i can get seed from application of colloidal silver from this one plant, it will have been well worth the money i spent.

i changed my cloning solution to plain water...the only option i didn't try previously, and the cuts are looking good...

so, as soon as roots strike (KNOCK WOOD), i'll be throwing the switch on it...been just a week, but i'm anxious to know whether it strikes or not.

oh bloody hell...i'm going to load a bowl and will it to strike!

peace

looking good so far! here's a pic of my chemdog ibl's, they are the left half of my grow, although there is one og kush mixed in that side too. they look small but thats just because they are from clone so they started flowering right away, and the plants on the right side are sams haze/skunk mix from seed so they are naturally a lot stretchier, but i have it under control at this point. this is from week 3 flowering, right before i watered. they are really decent bewilders and from clone they do even better! sorry about the hps light, lol and the bad cell phone pic, i have to work on my photography skills

mine have the mosaic virus, had it since birth, though it didn't really show up till reveg, they say chem d clone has it too, so i guess thats where it came from but be sure to give them enough calmag or it may surface, doesn't hurt the yeild much unless it gets really bad, but it's something to be aware of, and too look for.

thanks guys.
i've been unfortunate with these so i'm pampering her with daily care. seriously...
they grow so slowly under observation that it's an excercise in futility...memory being what it is.
thanx for the pics of yours senorsloth some beauty in there.
