was talking to dragor on the topic of paradise ice cream since that will b strain for my first grow...starting germ 2moro. anyway i was asking him how it grew and he said it grows thick branches not easy to LST or scrog. he recommended training it for a single large cola. anyone use this technique often? sounds kinda easy i guess. what do u do and when? i figure u just veg it out and then when and how exactly would i start training it for a single monster cola...just wondering. thanks. :joint:

I know one way to do it is to get a clone that's 2-3" and put it into flower as soon as it roots.

LOL... you actually dont train a single cola plant... so thats pretty easy....

what you do is prune anything that starts looking like a branch.....

the plant then has no choice but make a single cola plant....

yeah i figured that...u trim ALL side branches, and if so when do u start that...? doesn't it look weird while growing like that...?

Vin is your area tiny because even with a thick stalk with a bit of training every few days you can still make them work, my speedqueen's have some monster stalks but a little work makes them yield large. These were trained with yarn and as I need to tie branches I just drill holes in the top of the pots and tie the yarn through the holes.

when they hit around 6 inch's down 2 nodes from the top when the side branches stretch out and pass the top then I tie them down and when they hit flower as they stretch up I just keep doin the same. One thing is when you transplant just do the same in the new pot and this will fill your area in one even canopy kinda like a scrog. Also rotate your plants a quarter turn each day so they get light to all the areas so you have nice buds all around if you can. I hope this helps Vin

I would steer you away from the single cola style because it just doesnt produce that well unless you have TONS AND TONS of plants.. I would just top and top and top again.. Get as many colas as you can fit into your space.. Thats how I have learned to maximize my space.. more colas=more weight.. Peace

thanks. i was planning a scrog at 1st, but since it's my first try, i think i'm gonna LST, something like zoo said, drill holes in top rim of pots and tie over...
