Some times the worst plants in veg turn out to be the best in flower 🤷‍♂️
Hard to grow all the outliers when your dealing with plant count restraints
Repeatedly working the same line over and over again has real value when large plants are open pollinated
Huge amounts of seeds are produced and refrigerated on the first generation, random thoughts...maybe

When selecting skunk phenos what are the characteristics that are most appealing to skunk fans?
  1. Smell
  2. High
  3. Yield
  4. Flower time
Maybe I missed some or the order of most important
The real beauty of us here together is we see what everyone's best skunk is as everyone has different tastes
Im really looking forward to what we all produce and can achieve together :huggg:

Preclinical evidence suggests that one aspect of the polypharmacy of CBD is that it modulates brain excitatory glutamate and inhibitory γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels, including in brain regions linked to ASD, such as the basal ganglia (BG) and the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (DMPFC)

What's In Valerian Root?

The value of valerian root comes from oil within the root. The oil is known for its pungent scent which smells much worse than the flower itself — some have compared the odor to stinky cheese, and others to dirty feet. Yet, apart from its foul odor, valerian root may do some potentially useful things in our brains.

It has been suggested that valerian root has special chemical properties that are useful in the treatment of anxiety, some of which may actually mimic some of the effects of long accepted anxiety treatments.

Valerian root contains specific acids that have been named after the plant itself as valerenic acids, may translate into GABA or gamma-aminobutyric acid.

In 1985, American toy manufacturer Mattel used patchouli oil in the plastic used to produce the action figure Stinkor in the Masters of the Universe line of toys.[18]

Stinkor is a fictional character, a villain from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Labeled the
"Evil Master of Odors,"
Stinkor is essentially a humanoid skunk
whose superpower is the ability to release a toxic odor from his body that renders foes immobile.[1]

Conception

1985

Stinkor was first introduced in 1985 as an action figure from the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toyline and came packaged with a mini-comic entitled The Stench of Evil!. The Stinkor action figure had a semi-foul scent, giving it the distinction of being one of the few toys whose "action feature" was an odor. The Stinkor action figure was created by Mattel by re-using the mold of another villain in the Masters of the Universe line Mer-Man. The only differences between the Mer-Man and Stinkor action figures were that Stinkor was painted black and white, had different chest armor and was chemically treated with patchouli oil to smell musky.[2]

Stinkor was presented to Lou Scheimer and other staff at Filmation for inclusion in the original Masters of the Universe cartoon series, but his questionable superpower kept him from ever making an appearance on television. According to Filmation staff, when the description of Stinkor was read out at a meeting of the story editors, all of them burst out laughing and vowed never to use Stinkor in any episode script.[3]
1716458547278.png

:ROFLMAO:
The main chemical component of patchouli oil is patchoulol, a sesquiterpene alcohol.[6]
Patchoulol is also used in the synthesis of the chemotherapy drug Taxol.

Nice healthy looking plants. stem rubbing scents often ridiculed tell alot about later pungency of flower
Also helpful in male selection, have these been sexed?

Sure they are sexed. I got 6 females and 1 male! I wish I had one more but I will not complain :)

Blue Indica ... Blueberry this was a hybrid which used the Eugene Oregon Indica Cut ;)
In my experience they are very "skunky" recently I have even found very pungent examples.
In recent research it has reemerged in the mix thru Blue Dream and Blueberry Cheesecake
In the past I have also experienced exquisite colors and berry flavors so its more selection.

Having some S1's of the Eugene Oregon Clone will sort thru those first
Before revisiting the couple high THC Type I plants in these genetics lacking the active CBD gene...
Should be interesting

  1. Blue Dream

    Sep 17, 2017
    THC + THCA: 28.273%
  2. Blueberry Cheesecake

    • Blueberry Cheesecake »»» Cheese x Blueberry Multiple Hybrid
    • Practical Possiblities
    Feb 20, 2017
    THC + THCA: 25.5%
Original Blueberry achieved a legendary status along with an immense number of followers. During more recent years Blueberry has been used to make countless new and popular crosses e.g. Blue Dream, Mazar x Blueberry (formerly Skywalker), Mazar x Blueberry OG (formerly Skywalker OG), Blueberry Headband, Blueberry Diesel and Blue Cookies just to name a few.

Swabi Pakistani Heirloom/Landrace

Swabi Pakistani is a totally unique and rare, unhybridized pure landrace/heirloom strain from the Swabi region of Pakistan. These seeds were gifted to me by Irrazin of Indian Landrace Exchange and are being released for the Breeders Without Borders project. Proceeds will be donated to building the Nanda Devi Cannabis Library that will be developed into a Museum in the Himalayas! This is a very special project with amazing intentions. The farmer who cultivated this pure variety for over 40 years was forced to stop cultivating due to legal issues and has gifted the seeds to Irrazin with the wishes that they be spread around the world so this valuable and unique strain will not become extinct forever. Irrazin has teamed up with Mass Medical Strains to make this project a reality, and together we will be able to share this beautiful unique gene pool with the world!

Irrazin started with “P1” parental seed stock and took it a further generation which is considered “F1”
MMS grew these F1 seeds. With the original intention of making regular “F2” seeds, mother nature blessed us with a full pack of females! So the only choice was to make feminized seeds. There were some seriously incredible plants in here, so I reversed my two favorite plants, and pollinated 5 incredible mothers with the mixed pollen of both reversed phenotypes, in order to maintain the genetic diversity in the line! There are so many special expressions to be found. These plants are surprisingly stable and stress resistant even in indoor cultivation, which is excellent for such a “wild” gene pool. I guarantee over 99% of American growers have never seen a strain like this! It’s totally unrelated to any of the modern hybrids.

In veg, these plants have a very unique stem rub of curry and spices, perfectly reminiscent of the region of the world they descend from! There are two main phenotypes which could be called “indica” or “sativa” phenos in structure, or short and squat (like a typical hybrid you may grow) and then a taller lanky pheno with thinner branches.

However both the indica and sativa structured plants in this gene pool have amazing uplifting energetic highs! Pure unhybridized strains often have a much cleaner and more distinct unique vibration. I describe these as a tropical vacation mindset. When you are on vacation you are excited and ready to explore, while being highly in tune with your surroundings and sensations. This is the exact effect I’ve gotten numerous times from the Swabi smoke. It is also very spiritually motivating, calm and centered, while giving you energy and motivation to explore both physical reality and your internal bliss. Most phenotypes induce extreme munchies, a bigger appetite than many hybrids even. Some are very fast-thought provoking and racy, motivating the body for action and movement, while not being as anxious as many modern sativa hybrids can be. Other phenotypes have extremely psychedelic body sensations such as nearly unbelievable spacial and texture perception distortions (for example limbs feeling like balloons)

We have also seen numbers high as 20% thc, and up to 13% cbd in some phenotypes! Every plant has also shown significant levels of the rare cannabinoid THCV!

Here are the available mothers to choose your seeds from, or you can collect them all! We have thoroughly tested each line, and they all have amazing plants. You will find a fair amount of structural variation in any of them (both tall and short phenotypes are possible), however you’ll notice they all have the same Swabi funk to them, a special woody nutty spice and also “landracey” sharp tones which are very unique and sativa-like in nature! These plants can yield very well with large colas and are easy to grow indoors and out! Does well with or without topping! The intensity of the terpenes in some phenos can rival any award winning modern hybrid, and you’ll find serious winners in any of these 5 lines.

Mom 1: This mom has the tall sativa structure. Incredible unique plant with a sour vinegar wet smelling terpene that I have never ever seen in cannabis before. It also has a sharp spray paint solvent/laquer and strong pine and wood terps in the back.
Mom 2: This was a super stacker (big yielder) with sativa structure. Rubber spice and extreme cream terpenes! Very unique and delicious.
Mom 3: Super wild smell of rank body odor, onion, garlic, almost similar to the well-known strain “gmo” but also with the swabi funk and a very interesting sativa aroma of carrots and pet store rabbit-area…! Insane. The leaves in this pheno got a bit more curled round in the last weeks and has a distinct look.
Mom 4: Sour body odor and pumpkin aroma, on an indica frame. Super frosty and dense.
Mom 5: Indica structured plant with amazing loud burnt rubber, sweet spice and wood in the back. Really special as well, although hey all are!
Mix: This is a random mix of seeds off of multiple of the 5 mothers. We have also found pink haired phenos from the mixed pack!

Please make your own seeds and share clones if you like! These rare plants must be shared and cherished. Drops October 30, 2020

Flavor: Woody, spicy, sharp, solvent, unique Swabi funk. Combined with individual phenotypical expressions of additional cream, haze, body odor, mint, pine, and more!
Effect: Racy, clear, uplifted, energized, hungry, excited, explorative, open, cheerful and laughter.
Flower Time: 8-10 weeks
Yield: High
Height: Pheno dependent, some Short and some Medium

Seeds are almost gone, you will find a few packs left at Cool Beans, Great Lakes, and possibly other seed banks too!

Description

2019 seed increase

This is an old kept and acclimated Pakistani line out of northern California gifted to me by my father. They do carry an Afghani edge to them being collected right at the northern border. Original collection from right below Khyber Pass, Northern Pakistan late 1980s, and kept out of region since.

These genetics have Only been grown outdoors for years and are a kept outdoor line. I wanted to change that so This was the first time they have seen artificial light. I selected for plants that showed zero stress and high tolerance to the indoor environment. Not only that, they thrive in it.

From 45, we selected down to 4 amazing females and 1 stud male. The male has an old school horseradish/hot mustard sour stench coupled with loud dank linoluem funk exudes off him. He is also more on the sativa spectrum with a later flower window which is where my father says the more traditional Pakistani heritage lies.
Females carry smells range from Industrial chemical, new linoluem roll, new carpet musk, adhesive glue, old world spices, Tart Sour Melon, to an almost meat funk kush over linoluem all with a pine wood style backing. They are also referred to as ‘Blue Pakis’ by those older than myself.

Extreme lime green coloration to the flowers, the more sativa carry a darker resin where the others are more of a grey tacky resin cakes the hands quick. The flower is extremely unique and stands out against most anything, some do carry a golden cure.

The effect is extremely Cerebral and potent, to a narcotic cerebral in the more Afghan. Most are extremely energetic and motivational with a clean introspective effect.

They hold extreme vigor and resistance to pest, mold, mildew. Many are Hash and extract style plants, the more forward facing sativa are sieve style plants with a drier resin, a later bloom and a looser flower set. They all dump resins and should make great plants to select in for extractors.

Flower times will range from 10to12 weeks with your occasional fast finisher, outdoors they finish the very start of October into November for some. Yield is above average, quality is above average. Drug trait cultivar, low to no CBD.

Pakistani Heirloom male that has an old school horseradish/hot mustard sour stench coupled with loud dank linoluem funk, what he passes to offpsring is a very classic clean linoleum over old world Spice. Average Flower time 9to10 weeks on the pure line and the Male is of the truest sativa presence. These plants under the sun are amazingly fast they will be done early October on most everything despite their effect being so cerebral. Resistant to pest and mold as well. Yield will be above average on just about all. quality, effect, vigor, yield. All there.

Big Sur Holy Bud Description

Logo Bodhi Seeds Bodhi Seeds Big Sur Holy Bud
These were a special gift to a well connected friend from an old grower in big sur, she gave them to me because she knew that i loved seeds, and would do them right. Can i 100% verify this is the original undiluted or unhybridized big sur holy weed line from perry the monk, no can do, but what i can say is this is unique, oldschool, mind ablaze green fire time capsule weed from the big sur mountains. Everybody that has tried this line has fallin in love with it.

The plants do great indoors and out and can get quite big. It has genetically purple phenos, pink pistilled phenos, a less common sativa pheno, and loads of hybrid phenos, smells range from soggy bread to blueberry menthol, it seems to be a afghani mexican hybrid masterfully bred towards the sativa high and the indica frame. The true magic of this strain is the amazing sublime sativa high, a beautiful blast from the past

This seed run was an open pollination of 4 males and 6 females, not alot, but enough to get the job done... A small population open pollination in a tent means your going to mostly the beans made from the first two males that opened.... The super quick sativa pheno male... And the fat indica dom male...

This line is called big sur holy bud to differentiate it from the big sur holy weed lines by hhf, danbo, and reeferman. Everybody that has tried this line has fallin in love with it. Im really happy to gift this back to the community. Very limited, only 30 packs, then its up to you to make more!

Neotype

Designated herein: Afghanistan: Ghazni Province (formerly Kandahar Province), Gui-Akhen (Гуй-Ахен) village near Qala-i Murvardar (Кала-и Мурвардар), on the Ghazni-Kandahar road, Vavilov, 1924, from seed sown by Serebriakova in 1926 at North Caucasus Experiment Station, Maikop, Krasnodar Krai (labeled Cannabis sativa, WIR 609, 3945). Fig. 5a. No specimen labeled afghanica exists at WIR (McPartl., pers. observation, WIR 2010). The achene illustration in Vavilov and Bukinich (1929) cannot serve as lectotype because it is not part of the protologue, which appears in Vavilov (1926).

Epitype

Designated herein, explicitly supporting the neotype: Afghanistan: Kandahar Province, near Kandahar, Schultes, XII.13–20.1971 (ECON 26505). Fig. 5b. The ICN defines an epitype as a specimen selected as an interpretive type when the holo-/lecto-/neotype is suboptimal for critical identification (Turland 2018). ECON 26505 serves as an epitype because its morphology unambiguously agrees with the widespread concept of “Indica”. ECON 26505 also serves as a typotype – a photograph of the specimen, when alive and in the ground, which appears in Schultes et al. (1974), and is reproduced in Suppl. material 1: SF.8.

Diagnosis

Plants with THC% ≥0.3% in inflorescence and a THC/CBD ratio <7 (almost always >1); central leaflet length:width ratio <6 in fan leaves near the base of inflorescences; mature achenes usually ≥ 3.6 mm long, the perianth mostly sloughed off, lacking a prominent protuberant base, and lacking a well-developed abscission zone that allows easy disarticulation.

Morphology

Plants usually < 2 m tall, often <1 m. Central stem (stalk) internodes short (often 5–11 cm), mostly solid, central hollow usually less than 20% of stalk diameter. Branches in well-developed plants begin close to ground level, at an angle sometimes nearly 90° from the stalk axis, producing a menorah-shaped habitus. Leaf palmately compound, largest leaves typically with 7–11 leaflets, leaflet edges often overlapping, color dark green (“black hemp” Vavilov 1992). Central leaflet long and broad, often oblanceolate in shape; margins with coarse serrations, secondary serrations rarely seen. Female inflorescence (and infructescence) compact, often agglutinated with trichome exudate, with prominent sugar leaves (a low perigonal bract-to-leaf index); short internode length causes axillary racemes become confluent and coalesce into collective congested colas. Sugar leaves with dense CSGTs on the proximal half, often present beyond the midpoint of the leaflet. Perigonal bract densely covered with CSGTs. Perianth membranous, usually sloughed off, with a fringe of striped or irregularly mottled pigmentation near the base of the fruit. Achene usually ≥ 3.6 mm long, exocarp green to gray; base blunt and lacking well-developed abscission zone.

Phytochemistry

Dried female inflorescences: THC ≥0.3, in late 20th century accessions nearly always >1.0%; literature weighted x¯ = 5.69%, up to 14.5%. This variety expresses the highest total THC%+CBD% (a measure of relative resin content of the plants, since these two cannabinoids usually dominate the resin) of all varieties, which correlates with its dense covering of glandular trichomes. Its THCV%+CBDV% content is lower than South Asian populations; Hillig and Mahlberg (2004) report a mean of 0.14%. Terpenoid profile imparts an acrid or “skunky” aroma, and uniquely expresses sesquiterpene alcohols, such as guaiol, γ-eudesmol, β-eudesmol, and the monoterpene alcohol nerolidol, as well as hydroxylated terpenoids, such as γ-elemene, a-terpineol, and β-fenchol.

Genetics

Allozyme and DNA studies that segregated Central Asian and South Asian domesticates are detailed in the genetics section of Variety 1. Onofri et al. (2015) identified a SNP in the gene that encodes THCA synthase that was unique in two Afghani accessions and a Moroccan “hashīsh landrace” (their SNP accession code no. 1179, A→T transversion). It was not present in 16 other accessions of fiber- and drug-type plants.

Other characters

Generally early maturing, with greater late-season frost tolerance than South Asian domesticates. Late-season cold triggers anthocyanin production in leaves and inflorescences – the sought-after “purple weed.” Achenes are mostly retained on plants, trapped by surrounding parts of the dense infructescence. Plants are more susceptible to gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) and powdery mildew (Golovinomyces cichoracearum) than South Asian domesticates.

Provenance and uses

Herbarium specimens from the 19th-early 20th centuries come from Afghanistan, northwest Pakistan, Turkestan (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Xīnjiāng Region in China), and Iran. These plant were cultivated for sieved hashīsh (nasha, charas) and sometimes for seed oil.

Comments

Vavilov (1926) characterized afghanica as “a morphological link between the wild and the cultivated races of hemp.” However, evidence in Vavilov and Bukinich (1929) suggests a domesticated phenotype (argued in Suppl. material 1: SF.6). Small and Cronquist (1976) treated afghanica as a domesticate, synonymized under C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica. Small (2018) commented, “The characteristics of indica type marijuana are highly consistent with those of an advanced cultigen. Like modern oilseed cultivars, they are short and compact, an architecture reducing diversion of energy into stem production and increasing harvest index for the desired product (inflorescence). Even the foliage (with very large, wide leaflets) is consistent with the trend described earlier of advanced cultigens often manifesting larger leaves than their wild and more primitive cultivated relatives. When indica type strains are allowed to set seed (they are normally harvested for flowering material) the infructescences are very dense, preventing most of the seeds from falling away and being distributed naturally – another indication of considerable domestication.” The prominent sugar leaves in the inflorescence may be another indication of domestication, as these likely increase photosynthate production very close to the developing flowers and their perigonal bracts.

-Musk is, without any exception, the strongest and most durable of all perfumes

The musk gland of a male musk deer is located between its genitals and navel. The gland is also known as the musk pod or preputial gland, and it's found in a pouch or sac under the deer's abdominal skin. The word "musk" comes from the Sanskrit word muská, which means "testicle". The gland was thought to resemble a scrotum, which may be why it's named after testicles.
