TOTALLY RANDOM POST II

The technology that allegedly permits flying at Mach 4 without shattering windows when breeching the sound barrier when close to the ground is more than a little curious.
I have no idea, but notice the right weather can make planes look like they have a parachute. A round one, like the front of the plane, not a flat one, like the back. It seems a bulbous front with the rest of the plane trailing out to nothing, is a good approach. We don't have supersonic animals we can study, but the big front and trailing out to nothing approach, is very common. There are few cigars flying or swimming about. A shape that tries very little, to reduce drag/turbulence.

Later I may look why we get a boom, but suspect that being slippy is the answer to avoiding such disturbance. Lots of the planes length, dedicated to smoothing things out. A military plane needs to be more compact, to be a smaller and more maneuverable target. The airliner is just a dart, with no need to make turns. It will actually be useless in a dog fight.

This image and helpful tip was posted in the Delta Junction, Alaska FB group yesterday evening. A former coon and (other critters) hunter who used dogs to hunt, as well as another hunter who used dogs, were familiar with this and stated that it works really well; tried and proven.

As others have said, a potentially very helpful tip.

@Ca++ . . .

If you have an hour and you really want to see what is involved in programming a hearing aid, here is a vid from a reviewer that works in a Costco Hearing Center in the US. He runs through the basics of programming a Phillips HA. Btw . . . I bought a Phillips 9050 HA on Tuesday. I get fitted for it next week.

How to Program Your Philips 9030/40/50 Hearing Aids Yourself

From the FB page of a Buddhist woman whom I loved very much many years ago, before I met my current wife.

My wife knows I read from T's page, though I haven't tried to contact her; I still carry a very warm feeling in my heart just seeing how well she's aged.... despite traumas and pains. And my wife knows and accepts this.

It occurred to me that any attempt to contact her would be for me and not for her, so instead I read from her page and quietly wish her well, sometimes sharing the content with my wife.

I was glad to see her heart is still abiding in her version of meditative activism and hope. Things that can be difficult to maintain and hang on to. I wish her well forever.

Looking on ebay, I found some Double Bubble, but unfortunately it was listed under window insulation. Which made me think, they have a window insulation section?

Double Bubble looked like the tent insulation that people could work with. It's bubble wrap. But two bubbles thick. Then each side is foiled. It should weigh very little. I have bubblewrap around mine already. Easily held to the tent seams with bulldog clips. However, I have thought about the mess of spray glue holding carpet underlay in place. The permanence of it all. The result though, could be worth the cost of a tent (and the true cost, the problem of disposal)

Think about how many of us have to warm things up, now LED is a thing. How could we not use some insulation. For me, I actually wrapped up as I had a cold spot. Caused by air movement around the groom door. I'm only insulated as high as the canopy though. I do let the top of the tent warm the room. Just not so keen on the bottom loosing heat. I made a poor corner good again, and the 200w heater has an easier job.

Bloody strange having a heater come on with the lights. I was having mental blocks trying to plug it anywhere but the night outlets. Flug no proper stop alert alert. So I shake my head to reset it, and it's the same again. Flug no proper stop alert alert. It was a struggle lol

And the tent, it could hold up bubble, much better than foam. I'm not sure I would do the main door though. It's going to break the foil surface over time. I will stick with drapes.

If a person burns themselves in protest in the sub-arctic, especially in wintertime, one thing that's apt to happen is that the freezing homeless people might gather 'round them to stay warm for a time.

The sub-arctic motto; "Let no btu's be wasted!!!"
