TOTALLY RANDOM POST II

Yeah. We get to see the sky again without contrails. Last time that happened was during another disaster ... the Twin Towers.

Unless it was a video of you fucking up badly. One of those "here hold my beer and watch this" deals.

It's weird not having any planes or choppers flying around.

I think people are gearing up... or is this like the sold out precious metals , in that people want stuff instead of electronic dollars in an account? Interesting that LA and MS, where there has been a breakdown in society after hurricanes, are buying up bullets.

Is that Vermont up there, getting ready for when biden/sanders steal the bern's nominartion?

https://www.silverbearcafe.com/private/03.20/ammunition.html site won't link right sorry

Anybody that doesn't think these are interesting times, isn't paying attention. I wonder if this is the theme song we'll hear in our heads?

Some of this crisis is being driven by quiet and not so quiet panic in peoples' minds. Alaska is reportedly getting the same level of goods shipped in we were before the murmur, but many are assuming the worst, so when buying items, instead of getting what they need for 1-2 weeks, buy absurd amounts, leaving the shelves bare in many aisles, fueling the sense of fear (and pissing off their neighbors a bit sometimes).

However, with employees in lower-paid service type jobs being laid off left and right, and smaller businesses at least temporarily closing their doors, there is a measurable increase in needs, presence of poverty, folks unable to make rent or groceries, increased unemployment filings, etc.

It's like unintentionally/indirectly turning up the heat under a pressure cooker that's already got the weight bobbing back and forth at 20-lbs. pressure.

From those variables, there's apt to be a guaranteed increase in unwelcome ripple effects. All species are predominantly intent on survival & perpetuation. Food banks/pantries are taxed already and not always able to meet current demand. Stealing when your family is hungry, or robbing when you have to maintain a roof, can be a more easily justified option for many in harsh times.

We're not there yet, but it's more than a little important that REAL safety nets be cast NOW for such issues. Or we may well see more of the ugliness our species is capable of when things become too real or options too few.
