Read all these warnings lately about security. Not sure what to make of it and thankfully I dont live in the US. (No offense).

But was interested to see who uses Tor/Privoxy or something else and your opinion on this issue??

I don't use the proxies, because the feds target proxie servers for attention, and flag proxie users as potential targets. Do not kid yourselves, they see anything they want to, big brother is watching.

I don't use proxies because I figure it would cost the feds more money to investigate me.

And I for one want my tax dollars going to a more noble cause like turning desert countries back into um.....deserts.....yeah.

I dont use proxies. No point. I dont grow, I dont SHOW.

And even if you do happen to use a proxy, if your ISP is snooping, the proxy isnt going to do shit.

Yes, and do you think they are going to spend a million dollars to bust some small time grower? Nope. The amount of money they can spend is irrelevant.

A burglar can easily smash a window to gain access to your house, yet you lock your door when you leave. It's called preventive measures. I'm not going to hand the gvmt my ass on a platter, if they want me they are going to have to do it the old fashioned way, investigation.

He was hacking into government computers that could potentially compromise US interests. Of course the government is going to pull out all the stops to catch this guy.


A proxy is NOT 100% anonymity, it is not meat to be. It's merely one tool in our arsenal to protect ourselves from oppressive governments. If the IC Mag servers are ever seized, I won't have to freak out and tear anything down.

I use it when purchasing or posting, not general reading. Wish it wasn't so effin slow though.
