Why do you use TOR to browse ICm?
Identity protection..... They can see what's posted, but not who posted it. Even if they run all the exit nodes they can only see what's posted, the posters ID is still protected.
File sharers can be caught over Tor though, due to the nature of P2P sharing.

AFIK most of not all of the pay proxy services have it in their Ts and Cs that they will give up your info to governments/LEA if asked.

I think I might go the vpn route if I can find a legit one for under $40 a year or so. Been looking into it casually but it's tough to tell if it's a scam or not for the cheaper ones.

Dont take this the wrong way, but do you really think they are going to hunt you down for a 200w LED grow? If it makes browsing the internet slow and un pleasurable maybe look at whether or not its actually worth doing.

paying for a proxy is something i will never do. companies have already proven they will give you up without a warrant.

who the hell do people think are coming after them. If you are worried about your ip being taken from the ic server, that will prevent it. as for everything else, trust me, its easier to bust you with a search warrant and use your plants as evidence than hiring hackers or getting court orders to access commercial IT records and trying to use you vissiting a website as evidence against you. I'm worried about my plants, not my internet habbits. I've been here for what now, 9 years without a proxy or any hiding methods at all. When they take me down, I'll let you know if it was my computer or my plants they used against me.
well put GMT,, unless you are a massive grower you wont get targeted based on sharing pictures or whatever and it will still be the physical evidence that gets used to put you away and probably not internet posts and shit.. with the constant changes in internet law its almost out of your hands tbh.. and most people posting away online aren't growing that many plants anyway so i doubt they even look at places like this that much..
People have been busted from making youtube videos, the videos were what led to the busts. This is no different. Sure if you get busted the regular way then the pics won't make any difference when they've got your grow.
The concern is if they did decide to hunt down people posting here and elsewhere, using Tor means they can't track the pictures/posts back to an individual. If they are tracing and busting people who make youtube videos, what makes you think they wouldn't do do it on grow forums. I'm not saying they are, but it doesn't hurt the behave as if they are.

If your referencing that one guy that got busted for the youtube video he had a clear shot on camera of a piece of mail with his name and address on it and the video got reported to his local P.D. I also believe he had a reflection of his face in the video.
yeah i agree but those guys posting vids on there were asking for it, ziontube is like twitter/facebook etc its patched straight into the devil itself, posting shit on his home turf is asking to get made an example of..
