Would a quartz glass tube about 24 inches long, 2 inches OD, be useful ?

So you can see the evaporated alcohol condensing on the walls of the glass tube & dripping into a collection reservoir.

I see some people use them. Perhaps to gage the amount of reflux before collecting product. I haven’t gotten that involved with trying to make adjustments. I leave the valve open until it drips, then shut it for a bit to let it recirculate before taking cuts.

I’m on my second build. My first one I gave away. I have to finish the electrical on this one. It’s pretty much done. I haven’t ran any liquor in a couple years. I don’t drink and a tiny bit lasts me a long time.

These are different than a pot still. Less taste and higher alcohol content.

If they test everybody, those who test negative and aren’t high risk, could get on with their lives.

If it comes down to trading in my tamale steamer for a still,
the tamale steamer is going to be the winner hands down,
as long as there is an El Super open down the street.

Sooner or later we’ll need to come back to some sort of normalcy. Not without some precaution.

If we have economic collapse, the virus won’t be the only life and death crisis.

What I'm saying is testing doesn't really solve anything. It might even be counter productive, because it makes people think they are clean when they very well might not be.

Tycho; In Canada there is a great source for plug n play distillers

https://www.thewaterguy.ca/catalog/water-distillers-63-1.htm

I have one that I use for creating herbal oil extracts. Either water or alcohol can be used or you can make your own alcohol or make alcohol stronger.

I have one of those. I’ve only used it for water. I got an old bottle of cheap wine. Maybe I’ll throw that in it. See how strong I can get it.

If this goes on for long, expect people who test negative to get bracelets. Only bracelets are allowed to work.

I get tired of the looks people give me because I wear a mask in stores.

They act like I'm infectious when I've been quarantine-ing since Jan. 27.

I'm thinking of getting a T-shirt that says,

"I'm not infectious

but you might be"

but I don't know how to say that without appearing anti-social.

Seems like people are assuming that I'm wearing the face-mask out of some act of altruism, to protect others because I'm infectious.

Uh, no.

I agree, it’s taking a chance. We can calculate the risk as we go. That will be hard to do without data. We may get a vaccine in a year. We may not.
I couldn’t expect millennials to live an isolated life in poverty just to give me a few extra years. I doubt if it will come to that extreme. I certainly hope not. It is a chance we may have to eventually take.

Hey thanks for the tip. I'll have to try a mask combined with a MAGA hat to really make people keep their distance.

Hey thanks for the tip. I'll have to try a mask combined with a MAGA hat to really make people keep their distance.

Actually, it could come in handy if you get pulled over by a cop.

Maybe even stack the deck and make yourself sneeze. Deli Horse-radish makes me sneeze big-time.

So if I get pulled over I just have to hide the cell-phone, eat some horse-radish, put on an N95 mask, and then sneeze wildly while I roll down the window to talk to the ocifer.

To add to the effect, get some luggage tags from a Chinese airline and put that on suitcases in the back seat of your car.

Any sane cop looks at that and, as long as you're not driving around with a dead body, you might have a better chance of being let off with a warning.

As long as they don't try to quarantine you.
