Pretty sad situation with the fracking loopholes/lack of regulations. If an individual sprayed brine over a town in a plane it would be labeled an attack, due to radiation levels, but if it’s pumped into the ground/ with personal wells it’s accepted practice.

Worth noting that radiation has a cumulative effect, with many isotopes having several hundred and sometimes thousands of years for their half-life’s to pass.

Also the workers are pretty much forced to use meth to keep up the pace.

Coffee and 5 hour energy drinks do not provide enough stimulation for a lot of the oil industry workers.

And nat gas is bringing sh*t for moolahs now, under $2 in the dead of winter - used to be $6. So that damage for nothing really.

Guy nearby paid a bunch of mexikans $15/hr to plant and chop weeds in his hemp field. Really screwed up the local prevailing wage which was lower.

Worst part of working off odd jobs and for cash is there is nothing for you when age has made it too difficult to labor. Like a friend of mine, worked as a 1099 independant contractor and when it came time to draw SS, he had very little credits. Poverty is real, tip well and be nice to people when you can..

gas used to be 15 cents a gallon. good weed was $15 an ounce. a new Jeep CJ was under $4000. all of that during my lifetime. none of it is relevant. got it? prices for EVERYTHING rise. $20 an ounce gold ended in 1934.

In 1933 Gold ownership was outlawed by that brilliant humanitarian and forward thinker Roosevelt lol and it was officially priced at $35/oz with much of the gold coins of the realm now illegal to own by American citizens, now being shipped off to banks in Europe, only to find all those gold coins being sold BACK to us after Nixon made it legal to own gold again only now Americans bought back this gold from smart coin dealers who to this day scour the banks of Europe in search of unknown hordes of US minted gold coins.

Funny thing about Americans, so many seem to like selling low and buying high. Back in the 70's my family was in the car biz in new jersey as was I was and one of the hottest groups of cars on the PLANET at the auctions were 1967-69 camarao's and firebirds ( only those with center consoles and floor shift were purchased at these "insanely" high for that time price ) which like brand new would sell for "as much" as $3500.00 ( not a misprint ) I knew a dealer who was selling all he could buy to buyers in SWEDEN.

We will be buying those cars back for many years to come just like for the last few decades coin dealers in the US have been buying common US minted pre-1933 gold coins from major importers of gold coins in europe.

One of these days Americans should try buying low and selling high instead. :tiphat:

These Cannabis Farmers Carry Out an Ancient Tradition High in the Himalayas

In a remote village almost 9,000 feet above sea level, a very old leaf is one of the only means to make a living. Their only problem: growing it is against the law.

Part of the description sounds like where I once lived. Groceries, not locally available were ordered from a man who made the trip to town in the valley once a week or two.

Funny that foreigners are called hippies.

When you consider that their first contact with the white man - was in the form of a bunch of long-haired freaks looking for dope - who called themselves 'Hippies' - it kinda falls into place - lol

Levi was the official hippie jeans. Some freaks wore them, but they weren’t mandated. Mostly the hippies hung out in “Frisco” where they held their weekend renaissance festivals while the freaks were smoking legal weed in Berzerkly.
Hippie Hill was the exception.

Worm grunting is another way to get worms to come up out of the ground. Sopchoppy is a little ways down the road from here and they have a festival every year. We used to use a wooden stake and a brick to vibrate the stake.
