One of the most amazing views in DC is to be had from the very top floor office of the CBX building, across from the infamous Water Cross building, alongside of the Potomac River, looking across to Va.An old member of a technocrat crew from way back. I was trained by those
who did work with drives in oil baths. My first significant gift in life was a reel to reel unit and a splice block.
I know well the history of such gear and can trace it back to it's point of origin.
I know the history and background. of the various operating systems like I know my own body.
Something very significant took place about the time we did cross the 400 MHz front side bus.
From that point on, the technology could be manipulated by such as myself to make it look and sound like
things which did never happen.
With such precision that it could not be detected.
Those of you who have stayed attached to our media have seen and heard my work more than you shall ever know.
It was about that time that I did abandon media for entertainment, though I did continue with it in my work.
I worked with such systems from the days when only three of them even existed.
I trained on small prototypes for years to prepare for my time with the systems.
I was granted unlimited access to the gear at a point when others did pay more dearly for time with, than anyone would even believe in tiny increments around the clock. I did watch as those who are now hailed as amazing artists were brought in via limos and lear jets for minuscule amounts of time on one.
EG: Thriller
It was my pleasure and work with and build to build more and improved systems for years thereafter.
It has been long since I have spoken with old compatriots.
I can not be the only one remaining ?
I seek nothing but companionship.
Reach out to me, I am lonely.
I expect to pay a price for having made this post. In the vernacular from our youth,
I can stand for it.
The office did belong to the Director of the CBX complex, I was invited there frequently, from the time of the Carter Administration forward. When I first was invited in there, it was the office of Chloe Arron, wife of David Arron, under Brezenski.
