hey have been in amsterdam the past week here is what i liked
in no particular order
A5 pioneer haze
mexican haze - @ the original dampkring, the owners have all changed so the menus at all 2 dampkring's and tweed kamer are slightly different, a5 and mexican had both that original old skool nevilles haze type taste and high nice grade

holy grail kush
sour power -@ voyagers their kush was ok but the sour power from my friends from hortilab had a nice sour diesel/chemmy taste

kosher kush
skywalker o g - @grey area my good chiefs jon has always been my favourite bud tender
a few nice kushy varieties so always find something decent

la confidential @ greenplace again nice kush flavour

hey ic...
some friends and i were in amsterdam for 8 hours.
first of all ...thx to the netherlands for having such wonderfull girls on bikes and having the freedom to blast in a coffeeshop !!! its really mindblowing to watch out of the window with a big smile and joint!
everytime a big vacation ...especially for the mind...no troubles in mind when iam there!!!

for the weed...

alll in all a wonderful trip as always with ok - grade herb ...
over the years,the quality changed
but the good times and amsterdam will never change

i dont say there is no quality....but some years ago in these shops you got the bomb diggity...!!!
i didnt hve the time to wait @grey area... there was a crowd lining up over half the street...i no for sure that they got good herb...but not worth waiting more than half anhour...
katsu i also kno ...but far away from the centrum ...when you just got 8 hours time
yoyagers as you stated...hmm as i stated...i like my sour diesel more than their batch of weed thisday...
and bushdoctor,stones...yeah i miised it ..
but for your understanding...
the quantity of quality changed..you just have too look carefully ....
istill remember some nice herbs from amsterdam that ismoked some years ago,,,they were that wonderful and they were everywhere...zhis trip i will only remember the good times...

This is a good topic! Most of us on the site are far beyond the noob commercial grown herb so all of your input certainly helps to cull out the "tourist weed" bring sold around there. A good buddy of mine and member here just got back from there and he did a giant dispensary tour. At the end of the day he said hell take the Pepsi challenge w Oregon vs Amsterdam. If he woulda seen this thread I believe he may not have had to sift thru as many generic commercially grown herbs to find something worth a-dam lol.

from my last amsterdam trip (01/2012)

1. Rif Cream - Greenhouse (amazingly strong, like a mushroom trip)
2. Outdoor Haze - The Doors Coffeeshop
3. Purple Power Outdoor - Homegrown Fantasy
4. Exodus Cheese - Greenhouse

I must mention that I prefer ganja which is grown at a natural environment, so I was focused on outdoor grown.

when i went i tried amnesia haze and la confidential. both sucked. the shit is served wet. like dried for 2 days wet. couldnt roll a joint or smoke from a bong. way better weed in the states.

im not even from the states and i found that i got much better weed in my country, and ive bought the most expencive weeds they got, just to see if they could put me down, the only stuff that got me buzzed was some OG in Green House,decente but still not the strongest ive had...

But America has way better herb available.

one thing you cant get in america though is hashes from all around the world..

well, i only stopped over for 1 night and went to one cafe, some neon green 3 floor thingy with a booze bar on top, cafe in the middle and weed sold in the cellar. it was the one closest to my hotel.


tried jack herer and some temple ball hash or whatever it was called.

jack herer was ok, nothing special and the hash was a little bit better, nothing to write home about but very nice after a long flight.

but ive often smoked better at home and from my own grow.

while being good, it was nothing i would have remembered smoking it at home. average.

but smoking in public and in front of cops at the airport before continuing my flight, priceless.

im really hoping the events in america will spark some freedom at home, allready some congress people are trying to get it legal so im crossing my fingers on it happening soon.

any rate, the marijuana war should be over in 10 years.

i was in germany 72 to 74 the conisouir grade hash lebonese being my favorite leb gold leb red/gold and leb chokin red was best true hash i smoked no opiates or morphine added

anything from smokey's... it was rite across the street from the hotel we always stayed at... so it was an easy commute.. never tried any other coffee shops.. do agree with others, much better herb to be found on this side of the pond...
