as it is you will probably only get about 1/8 from what you cut. it kinda depends on how dence they are. as for drying in a bag, watch out for mold. unless its a paper bag i'd hang, or put the buds on a paper plate cover it with another and flip it 1-2 times a day so they dry evenly. every one does what they want but if ya work hard, everybody likes a good reward.

as for the trichs in my experiance i'd say 2-3 weeks tops for more amber. with a strain i've yet ta grow i'm not sure. keep checking every 1-2 days. happy harvest and enjoy.

since the one pic of the best plant was pretty bad last time, heres a couple pics, all of the indica pheno, which is looking to be the largest producer by far BTW Its got a decent size cola, Im anxious to what it weighs in at. Ive seen some big buds in my day (or so I thought) but this one is definatly taking the cake and eating it too.

you can see the trichs on the lower bud shot. They are frosty.

pheen-Im not worried about mold, thats the least of my worries actually. Ive been struggling to keep my RH up, hehe. You are definately speaking the truth when you say everyone likes a good reward, thats the whole point Im going to give the paper bags a shot with these lower buds and see how fast they dry. I would venture to guess that in about 5 days they will be dry. I burp them a couple times a day just to be safe. When I harvest the colas Im probably going to hang them for 2 days before I put them in the bags. The colas are pretty thick so I think they will probably need to be hung for at least a couple days.

they look yummy. i almost wish i started my top44, instead of my shiva's. it was a toss up because i have 6 different types of seeds.

in 2 orders i now have 65 seeds. bluemystic, shiva, afgani, top44, and as freebies sd sent me 15 SK#1,+ kush x citral. currently i'm growen the shiva, bm. 2 of each. their about 6 nodes and 4-5" tall (already stinky) i wish i could grow them all at the same time

pheen- I don't think I would grow them all at the same time, but thats just my style. I see people grow multiple strains all the time but I don't think I could tackle more than 2 myself. Im just to lazy. BTW if they are stinky already just wait till flowering man. Hope you have odor under control

MGJ- Thanks Many many good times to come from that cola, and the other 2 as well Im anxious to see how much bigger they get. And how much frostier, although the trich production has already far exceded my expectations.



my "early pickens" are drying up nicely in the bags. Guessing 2 more days till the stems snap. One of the buds, about a gram sized nug, weighed in at around 3.5g 12 hours after getting chopped, and its already down to 1.8. Guessing it will come out to around a gram dry. I always invisioned the lower "popcorn" buds to by very pathetic and airy with weak trich production. That is not the case with mine, although they are not as dense as the cola, they are still sufficiant and have a ton of trichs. They smell really "green", guessing/hoping that will change after curing.

This is so exciting, can't wait till I can start chopping them down. I need to decide what to do with the trim too Bubble bags are definately on my list of things to get.

each pic is of a different plant. I think they have around a week left, Im going to be checking trichs every day from now on. I may pick some more of the lower buds at day 45, but I haven't decided for sure yet.

but damn this is also the worst part. It is so hard for me not to chop my girls down right now, or at any given time. Ive been smoking mids for way to long, its about time for some real bud. The samples I took the other day look scores better then the buds Im smoking on right now, which BTW are some good buds for my area, I payed $150 for a half oz of them, to put it into perspective.

leeroy- Ill probably post pics at least a couple more times before harvest, hehe. They just look so good, and Im never really doing anything when the lights come on, so its just the logical thing to do

MGJ- Im glad your enjoying it bro. I never would have thought they would look this good when I first started this, my first grow. I thought growing decent bud would be alot harder, because of the lack of it in my area. Now I know the truth.

Sharp- I actually got these beans as freebies from the Doc too. After reading the strainguide I was dissapointed to say the least. Lets hope I can prove the haters wrong.

if anyone has harvesting/trimming/curing/anything I should know advice LMK, I really don't know a whole lot about the curing process. I just know Im supposed to dry the buds as slowly as possible then when the stems break put them in jars. burp as needed for a few days then just wait a couple weeks. Does that sound right?

and get some air circulation to dry those buds. 3-4 days minimum, 5-6 usually.

They look real good and frosty btw, very nice!!!

dezer- mucho graci thanks for the reassurance with the drying/curing too. My flowering room is a room withing a walk in closet. The actual closet part is usually 60-70F and 30-40% RH, should be perfect. My "popcorn" buds were dry and ready for curing today (stems snapped) I think its been around 4 days since I chopped them and put them straight into paper bags. Im thinking the colas will get a 2 day hanging, then 2-4 days in the bags. Then a 2 week minimum cure (hopefully I can fight the urges) and sweet sweet cola victory is mine. In about a month I should be enjoying some dank cola

dances- Im becoming more and more sure of these buds potency. I smoked a rather pathetic piece of "popcorn" bud today that didnt' even register on the digiscale. I got a fat rip from it and held it in, and to my surprise I got stoned. Considering that one rip from the worst part of the plant picked 10 days early got me stoned, I wonder what the ripe cola buds will do

Curing is easy bro, just dry unpside down in a closet with a fan gently blowing them or on racks or grills or even in a cardboard box with layers of newspaper imbetween rows of bud...there is a whole lot of ways to cure...its great, but general rule of thumb ive found is dry the colas until the stems are almost snapping and then into jars for burping until cured.

As for asking about keeping them there for a few weeks only,
I never actually take my buds out of the curing jars, they live there permanently until i want to smoke some...its the best way to have a long ass cure and keeps them in good condition for long term storage imho.

pheen- don't worry I will do as indepth of a smoke report as I can. The "green" smell I described is from the lack of a cure I believe. They haven't even been curing for a full day yet and the smell is already changing. Ive been burping them every few hours just to be safe. Ill probably do that for a couple days then just let them be for as long as I can stand.


leeroy- thats what I was actually planning on doing, keeping them in the jars that is. When I say I want to keep them in there for at least 2 weeks, I mean I want them to stay in the jars for 2 weeks before I start smoking them. They will remain in the jars until they are smoked, afterall, even if I overcure a bit I can always freshen them up a bit with a fresh bud or a fan leaf. I have a feeling they will be consumed long before thats a problem though. Lets just say I like to smoke, and if I have buds in front of me its hard not to indulge.

Im going through about 10 cones a day with my glorious habbit.
