Top 10 List, Nutritional Supplements

I have had people telling me to eat Turmeric for a while. People that are into health on another forum.

I didn't, and my supplements were limited to a short list -

Decent Multi-vitamin, which has Green Tea & Gingko Biloba in addition to regular vitamins.
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Fish Flax Borage Oil

A week ago I met a middle-aged couple at the pool. We started talking about tea, they were drinking

Tulsi Tea. One thing led to another, and I got a piece of paper to write down all the health stuff they were telling me.

Gotu Kola - tea
Tulsi - tea
Ginseng
Echinacea
Gingko Biloba
Turmeric.

So today I was just doing a basic refill on Vitamin C and started talking to this nurse who was buying some supplement.

I asked if she could boil the 'top 10' list down a little. CoQ10 and DHA were there, I added them to the list.

But I'm in no hurry to take DHA, not when I don't understand the difference between DHA and DDT.

I hear CoQ10 advertised on the radio.

It might kill the people the advertise health supplements on the radio, but my inclination is to head for the Dollar Store. I bought the Gingko Biloba there.

Actually took some this morning, and used some Turmeric when I was cooking yesterday.

Anyway, what is on you Top 10 Nutritional Supplements list - besides bud ?

I take a multivitamin, a fish oil pill, and a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar daily. That's about it.

Other than that I just try to stick to eating real food (not processed), and I try to break a sweat every day whether it be at the gym, playing sports with friends, hiking trails, or working in the yard. I try to spend time doing something besides sitting on the couch.

In the last year I have drastically reduced my intake of red meat and pork. I'll still have a steak occasionally though that's just too good to give up completely

Now I'm about to burn some serious calories shoveling snow :tiphat:

I used to take B12 when I didn't eat meat, but that only last a few years. I'm don't think vitamins are necessary if you eat a balanced diet. Not criticizing, just a personal choice. I make sure to eat a couple servings of fish a week for omega3 and fermented foods for my probiotics. I also add turmeric to my food whenever possible. Also, apparently black pepper enhances the bioavailability of turmeric

I prefer to have a balanced diet than to take supplements.

5 HTP, St. John's Wort, Melotonin(sp?) is alright for feeling decent, slightly better than just ok.

MSM has been great for relieving and preventing joint pain. I lift heavy 5 days a week, and my joints feel better than they have in years. I quit wearing knee wraps for squats and deadlifts because I don't need them anymore.
