Recently I decided to sprout some of my seed collection because they were getting a little on the old side. I sprouted 42 seeds and 35 came up strong and healthy with a few runts that were already destroyed. There is a total of seven strains and I was really anxious to find a new mother. Also, at the same time I sprouted the seedlings I made 30 clones of my regular AK47 strain that also all rooted perfectly and are well on their way.
What I wanted to do was have half the crop AK47, and the other half these various strains. The problem is I was expecting half the seedlings to be male, but to my suprise all of them with the exception of one plant came female! Now I got way too many plants for the amount of lighting.
I am having a very hard time destroying perfectly good plants as I am worried I will kill a phenomenal strain, plus the fact I always get depressed when I have to kill a good female. There is just too many plants to deal with - what can I do?!
I was thinking of cloning some and keeping them until I can bud them. This will be a pain though. Your probably thinking why not just destroy the AK47 clones as I obviously have a mother already, but the problem is I have an order for the AK47 specifically and I need at least three pounds to be finished this grow, so that really only allows me half the garden to use at the most.
Oh ya, I am using 4 - 1000 watt HPS and the room is very large, about 12 feet by 18 feet. All the plants, clones and ones from seed are about the same size - 18 inches or so tall (not including the pot).
