Hopefully the biggest lesson everyone can learn from this episode is that the concept of royalty is not only retarded, but also extremely divisive, and barely more civilised than the 'primitive' cultures we're supposed to be helping.

The 'blue bloods' have not led this country into war for centuries, and as for the current batch of wastrels occupying the position, I doubt very much there's a shred of 'bravery' amongst them. That said, I still think a 'royal' leading the troops would be far more of a propaganda victory, not a loss, as it would 'prove' to the Middle East just how hard we are...:)

Oh, and for the truly patriotic, the Windsor's real family surname is: Saxburg Gotha. They're German...

Let him go. It sends one hell of a bad message to say his life's more worth keeping safe on home soil than others'.

Uh, no.
It's Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in reference. Also, it only referrers to a ruled territory (the modern areas of Thuringia & Bavaria) not a family name, as Saxe-Coburg & Saxe-Gotha were Saxon duchies. It's merely a house branch identifier for the Saxon House of Wettin.
It's part of the Windsor family through Queen Victoria's marriage to Prince Albert, who was German. He was known as Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha before his title changed to Prince Consort to Queen Victoria.
