too cold during dark hours

PM can be a real problem.

That said, years ago I let some little plants grow in an unheated upstairs room with just a southern window for heat. It was 30-40 F some nights yet the little plants grew (slowly) and produced some viable and valuable old school Columbian seeds

Another possible long-term alternative, is rather than dropping more power on heating etc.. could be to get rid of that 1k setup and replace it with a pair of 600's and divide the closet in two...

You could then flip them 12hr apart and let one keep the other warm, with less total power usage than a 1k + small heater... Could even allow you to stagger them 4 weeks part so your taking half-crops twice as often..

Something worth considering imo, why waste electricity creating heat, when we could be creating light and using the by-product heat anyway? :)

I totally like the idea of two lights on alternating light schedules. im very handy at designing and building grow cabinets so looking forward to that challenge. take a look at my post in the growing_soil forum: rootbound 3 weeks into bloom. it has other details about this grow.

You can split up your room into two and have two small fans that that blow into the other room controled by a timer. So when the lights on one side turns on you will have an exhaust fan blowing to the side that's asleep.
