yeah Epstein targeted females and the Vatican targeted males, but there have been incidents where both genders were victims of an individual

"toddlers and tiaras" is infinitely more creepy and predator vibes than a drag show

putting them on display in a competition where adults judge them is pretty strange, a lot more potential for harm vs reading a book that features a gay character

Had a fundamentalist pro-Big Oil Borough Assembly member here who had 2 daughters, and often dressed them up for school looking like hookers when they were in elementary school.

Yes, both males and females have been assaulted sexually at younger ages. I've worked with young men who were victimized.

What I was pointing to was individuals who prey on children often having a preferred type, not that other genders and a somewhat broad continuum of ages haven't been victimized.

Someone remarked confrontationally that "all of these folks (trans, homosexual, etc.) are 'this way' by birth." That's a politically motivated 'stretch' from both basic 'sides'. A stretch.

Our class President in grad school, during my clinical training, was originally an East Coaster who'd come out west as a younger person during the commune craze. She wore a button on her jean jacket that read, 'Clitzpah' rather than Hutzpah . A wonderfully human individual, and very open. She believed (and it's quite plausible, having worked farms since I was a tiny guy, and watching the sexual behaviors of the critters there), that all people are basically born bi-sexual and it's our conditioning and preferences that take hold in how we express ourselves sexually.

(*You see, talking openly with people as humans is how we find out these things).

Her stance was that after her gender had been mistreated and taken advantage of by men for eons, why would she wish to engage in a long-term sexual partnership with someone who represented that gender, so she went forth as a bi-sexual person who preferred lesbianism.

I worked with a junior high-aged young man who was Hispanic, and attended school in a fairly small, well-to-do community that was very white and very corporate company-townish, with all the conservative expectations that go hand-in-hand with smaller company towns of middle-right orientation. He became an informal topic for me at conferences that were focused on similar or related issues.

He'd been molested by an adult male at a young age, and he'd been aroused during the event, and had concluded that he must be gay, in great part because his dick responded to the event..

He presented as the most flaming gay male of that age I'd ever met.

I eventually told him what I've told other young men who'd become confused about identity without really asking the 'who am I, really?' questions enough. I told him, "Your dick doesn't have any eyeballs or conscience or even social indoctrination other than what your nerve endings there tell you, and what your social conditioning and upbringing has to say about that.

Know why he got referred to me? He'd put his head in the lap of another young man at a school dance, and the rather conservative well-known, smaller town's gossip meter went off the fucking charts. Shameful that such closed-minded people would have such a detrimental effect on someone who didn't even know who they were yet but was responding rather simplistically to the mere fact that he got a woody when he was molested. Not apparently aware of how many women will/can lubricate when they're being raped, which has nothing to do with desiring to be raped, or liking the experience, contrary to many Neanderthals' simplistic knee-jerk, presumptuous, self-gratifying fantasies and perceptions.

Our kids are not often as confused or harmed by the breadth of the reality of life and sexuality, but by traumatic experiences, the bone-headed judgements that surrounding parties often make about those moments, and the lack of open discussion that is sometimes screaming to take place in an uptight culture that thinks sex is dirty.... thus making sex dirty.

So how does a young confused being talk about a topic with knowledgeable adults in a culture that views such things as repulsive and can't bring themselves to open their fucking minds, let alone help a youngster who desperately needs to resolve these things?

I could go on, but I won't.

Christ but the whole thing is destructive and ignorant.

Yes, some folks have a predisposition from birth. But there are also many others. And political bents about very private and personal issues and hurtful experiences, when those political bents seek to simplify things that often defy simplicity, does little to help, and potentially a LOT to hurt.

"Fucking humans; can't eat 'em, and can't live with 'em." (That's my quote, by the way).

agree.
Only thing wrong with that quote is that "eat" can be used metaphorically. I was thinking of using it but surely someone would say: "you can eat me."

for a change of pace, i have an entirely DIFFERENT "why did i bother" complaint. my wife got a new bed for our oldest son. after going to get the new one, i set about assembling it (one royal PITA) in his bedroom. SURPRISE! the damn thing was 4 inches wider than the wall she wanted to put it against without it partially blocking his door. MOST people would have measured the fucking wall & checked the bed, but NO...:wallbash: and she tries to treat ME like i'm a moron because SHE has a bachelors degree and i quit wasting my time in school after i got my degree in mechanical engineering and welding technology/inspection ... but I know how to use a damn tape measure. :dunno: rant over, thanks for letting me vent.

Problem solved.

you think like i do. i bet that has caused you no end of trouble over the years...:smoke: my wife doesn't have that quality of a sense of humor. :cautious:
I meant the bed or the wall, but ......

Lots of chainsaw carpentry and remodeling in the past. Barns, decks, benches, greenhouses, you name it. Even the skived down base on the plywood on the side of my 2-1/2 story home when there was an inconsistency due to the flashing that ran up behind the plywood near the foundation and the last 5" to 6" of plywood that overlapped the flashing had to be thinned; done artfully with a Stihl .021 'pocket saw'. (*My wife's old saw, by the way).

Abusing children because that's who they are does not become acceptable though. When the error has to occur, it must occur in favour of those we must protect the most, and that is children, not perverts.
I don't care how people dress, or what they do with their own junk, but when they choose to spend their time with kids, they need to realise that their rights just ended, now it's time for kids protection to begin.
This times a million and 1.plane and simple

yet another chapter of official ineptitude/corruption rolls out here. i recently told you folks about Johnson City TN LEO warning a suspect that there were warrants for his arrest so he could flee, instead of kicking his door in and arresting him. now (as Paul Harvey might say) the rest of the sordid story...it has come to light that AFTER he was apprehended in a neighboring state by US marshals (thanks, guys!), his phone/devices etc were confiscated and given to JCPD. sounds good, until you learn that they did NOT bother looking at them until a couple of days ago, and found film clips etc of FIFTY-TWO (52) sexual assaults/rapes, several of which criminal complaints had been filed about earlier but were ignored. some of the victims were apparently drugged, as they seemed to be unconscious in the videos, sources say. these charges would not have even been investigated except for a female FBI agent (wouldn't you know it? a woman stirring up trouble for some poor guy, lol) who was working with the JCPD...until the (now retired, how convenient! ) chief of police fired her from her position there because of her insistence in investigating this person. why was the police dept protecting a serial rapist? what POSSIBLE info could he have been feeding them to deserve such treatment? inquiring minds etc etc
