 I have an idea. what if the senior members created a ICMAG etiquette thread that detailed how newb growers/members should document their grows, respond or whatever it is your idea of how the threads should be answered, written, whatever. Like, "What ICMAG is here for" or maybe "What ICMAG can do for you if you let it" or perhaps "How to navigate ICMAG w/o pissing people off" or better yet, "People upset with you on ICMAG and you're a newb?"

the way I found out I was really upset. I didn't think and sometimes I still don't think that people realize I'm just really excited....like a new puppy...and I'm learning all of these amazing things so quickly and I am learning by myself on threads that sometimes don't always have the best info. I see someone else who has the same question I once had and I know the answer, well at least I think I do, and the next thing I know I'm being told some stuff that is really upsetting. the dogs who are older than me who've learned these tricks and know more than me seem a little irritated with the new puppy antics. so I guess I'm using this analogy to try and just explain myself, plus I see it with others as well so it seems to be a common problem? couldn't this be remedied by an intro thread or something? all new member check out the introduce yourself section. I would really just like to get along. is this totally a retarded idea? I have been hitting the bong a bit tonight...

That's what's the new growers thread is for Lucky, a lot of old heads get irritated with questions because of the lack of due diligence to find the answer their looking for. Of course that isn't an excuse but its a reality , I find the best method for learning is to read through guys like Arminus, Ichabod crane, Marlo, redspaghetti , and all the stickies in the grow diaries thread .. you'll learn way more by going through their threads than by asking questions. Most of the old heads here wont bother with any new threads concerning helping newbs that's why you have newbs answering newbs in that subsection. Lady all ready knows how to grow , the rest will come with experience...

Hey Lady , how many harvest have you had?:tiphat:

those threads are really dated and a lot of them have outdated stuff, not too mention the members are banned, they're 500+ pages long where I have to search through pages or repeat questions from people who won't read the page before?! I personally hate learning from threads. I have searched them looking for answers to no avail for hours so after a few experiences with those, I ask questions, because it seems that that's the best way for me to get the answer.

when I harvested I had several generations of plants going on from huge three foot wide ones to tiny little clones because as they got root rot in the hydro tank I would plant them in soil. the veg room got filled and so I sent them all into flower with three weeks apart to help divide them up and space wise. so I guess it's how you look at it? then the last three months I've been trying to learn organics so for a total of 7 months, I've been growing. although I'm not sure if you are really interested or if this some sort of cheap shot at me because I'm pretty sure everyone should know that I've only harvested once since I bitched about it quite a bit...I will humor you with the answer. :D

no no I don't take shots.... I was just wondering I had seen a couple flowering plants in your album if I wasn't mistaken....I haven't seen you bitch about having one harvest to be honest I haven't seen you bitch at all or ask ''too many'' questions , that's why im always surprise when you say that people are getting mad at you... and for the threads they all aren't outdated , shit Arminus still has his thread up to date , Ichabod still is active in his thread ,and marlo has a couple threads that still have pics up and is only a couple pages all about going through buried material to find the info that you need.

that's only to introduce yourself, not for new growers to ask questions , there's a new growers subsection for all new growers that are in need of help , if your having trouble with organics there stickies in the organic subsection that im pretty sure would help. :dunno:

i've never heard of the other members besides marlo and he does vert growing so it's a whole different style, although I have been looking through his threads for ideas on how to build my staircase and found some good tips in the first couple pages but honestly and I'm sure I'm not the only one with a short attention span, I can't wade through something that takes so long to read. I know that sounds lazy but let me try to explain. I can't pay attention to what I'm reading so I have to keep rereading the stuff when I find my mind wandering away so a thread that is very long will take me quite a while to read. the crazy composer thread was great for example because it's ten pages long, each post was written well and has lots of info in a short amount of space, and it only took me about two hours to read. I'm pretty fucking slow at reading. call it ADD, whatever...

so maybe a solution is would it be possible for them to trim down the threads or collect the info into a smaller version with it linked in the first post of the sticky? aren't mod's paid or is it a volunteer position? sorry, just wanna try to have a better experience and save someone from having to deal with this. many people on here don't talk because of it and countless people won't even get an account because of the issues about people being mean. I'm sure some of you have read comments from people saying they were scared or nervous to participate because they feared getting yelled at? ICMAG is already known for being the most hospitable forum, but couldn't we make it better? all of these newbs are on here asking questions that are being answered by newbs so the newbs are spreading misinformation and the senior members don't want to answer their questions so I really don't see this problem resolving itself without some action.

that's whats the filter button if for so you can just read the post of the thread creator, its all about what you wanna do if ... and a tip don't think that because its a vert grow you wont learn from those guys , ive seen those guys pull an lb from 600w but at the same token ive been here since 07' signed up in 08' so 7 years of reading lol ... when I look into a good thread with info , pics and nice convos I can read for hours , shit bring a notebook if you have to lol I read all of bobbles threads in two days .... you learn about RH% , VPD, NUTES , Strains and Builds ,,, like I said its all about what your trying to do if your trying to cash crop or if your trying to smoke some dank buds ...Me im trying to get as much weight and dankness outta my setup that I can .

there's a filter button?!?! omg that would've saved me soooo much time! when I start reading pages of conversations, my mind wanders away and then I get frustrated for having to wade through crap, then I start asking questions....that's how it works for me at least and I know some others too.
I really loved the vert SOG sticky that had a table of contents. that shit was awesome!
i've read bobbles threads and you're a speed reader tleaf! how can you read and absorb all that info? jeez!

it's just that there is no thread that describes the way you should act. like a charm school for girls....etiquette! manners! basically describing how to be successful like you said above and a response to why people are upset with you because people don't understand. I don't and there are others who've made accounts and just quit posting after a while. :dunno: nevermind. I only found out because I'm here asking you why you're all mad and i've seen barely anyone do that so I thought a thread addressing why people are pissed at you could shed some light.

thtas were you come in ;)

people don't want to answer questions here atleast the old members ... no let me rephrase that , older members are here to chill and kick the shit we know people on here and talk to them its like our social media some would say atleast in my case ...I do agree though that no one should be getting bashed for answering questions but in the same breath the answerws ARE there you just have to scratch at em' to get em.....On another nte your plants look good in your album is everything going smoothly?

yes, they're all growing well. wanted to up pot them last week but still need to get the pots. I need to sit down and figure out how many I need to buy in what sizes as some will be going up a size so I can use them for the others that need to go in the smaller size. I would buy them as I need them but if I order online I can save 75% off store prices and I only want to pay for $10 shipping once. it also crossed my mind that I could just go buy landscaping fabric and sew my own but I need to borrow a sewing machine. but if I do that I would save a significant amount AND I could design my own fabric pots! now I know what you're thinking....getting a little carried away with designing pots but the Smart Pots brand makes a pot for transplanting where the pot is split down the side but the sides are overlapped making the soil stay in there but peeling the pot off for transplant easier on the roots. really wouldn't be hard at all to do when sewing them and they would be super simple to make. theres a bunch of videos on how to as well.

I just turned on the lights so that's the night temp and the RH was way too high because the dehumidifier shut off in the middle of the night and the huge raptor hood traps the RH because theres about a foot clearance on the sides of the room. I'm guessing at least :D

really? I plan on running a SOG with 40 plants in bloom. little plants! just need a lot to get yield. that's what the growers with all the experience in real life told me to do. one runs a huge SOG and loves how easy it is and the turn around. less time to fuck up. you're in and out of harvest. what do you think? I was going to have shelves at different levels and run a flat SOG. I haven't done much to redesign yet and haven't bought anything yet.

73-82F depending on the outside temp. some days it's been warmer in the afternoon and the lights are on almost 24 hours a day. I unplug them just to let the bulb cool down for an hour or two. that probably sounds dumb but I turned them on for 24/7 once and 6 days in part of the inside of the bulb had melted.

I should mention that I do not get the yield that you guys do. I only got around 3 oz from harvesting the entire first crop. that was three HUGE plants a medium two ft tall one and four one foot tall ones. I'm not expecting much at all and I don't get the "stretch" so they never get bigger when I put them in bloom; maybe 6 inches? and I want to smoke hash as my dad died of lung cancer and onyone who smokes does as well in my family. I have a lesion under my tongue and my dad had that as well. I would prefer to smoke bubble hash as there is les plant material. that is another reason as well. I'm not out to make a shit ton of money as selling to the collectives here brings up possible legal issues and really, I don't know enough people to move that amount so it's really just stupid unless you're making concentrates.
