What stain should be used for THCA?

Fast Blue B salts are not easy to obtain without access to Sigma Aldrich it seems.

Any real disadvantages to using UV lamps for detection instead? Besides the obvious fact that it's only temporary vs permanent of dyes

No, not really, you can use UV, but I would work with UV only now after having experience with dyes (I mean me, this is not a general advice). I had strange readings, for wich colouring was important. Colouring helps a lot. One can buy from China FBBs/FBBBs, if Sigma is out of reach.

FBB and FBBB works for THCA. In fact, THCA is determined along with THC, by simply placing another dot of extract on the plate, after decarboxilating the first, speaking of the same strain, of course.
