NiteTiger I am sorry to read about this, kudos to you for taking the necessary precautions to protect you and your family...it is unfortunate we are forced to scuttle around looking over our shoulders because of a plant here in the land of the 'free'...

It makes me sick to think about how we have to run around, constantly paranoid that someones on to our grows, either for greedy selfish reasons or to put us in jail. We are some of the most peaceful people on the planet and we're still persecuted for our passions. Although I'll miss reading your updates Tiger, I'm glad you're keeping yourself safe first and foremost. Good luck and we all hope to see you back someday.

Best of luck.......this sucks to see an excellent grower, with an obvious love for the plant, have to pull the plug. keep your chin up and protect your butt....when all is good again, you know you have more than a few friends that will help you get up and running.....peace...O.

Hey Nite Tiger

oh man, glad you reacted. better safe then sorry. live to fight (grow) another day, thats the way.

i hope you have some bud stashed for this time...

peace out and may you be back soon.

ps: you might want to sanitize your computer too. make encrypted disc images with your pics and delete all cookies, empty cash, delete browsing history, reset browser. that should be enough, otherwise you have to back everything up, defragment your hard disk and re install you operating system to have a clean computer.

I think format is what you were looking for, and I truly hope it doesn't come to that. I have enjoyed your thread from the beginning and this was a very sad turn of events for someone obviously so talented and passionate about this beautiful herb. I await your return, because i know you have so much more to offer us in the world of growing. Good luck, peace.

Thanks for all the support guys! Very very kind, really above and beyond.

Things are resolving even quicker than I anticipated, and I may be back sooner than I'd hoped, but I'm still letting things play out right now.

Rest assured, the computer has been sanitized of all grow related pics.

Thanks again guys!

glad to hear that you are getting back onto your feet there NT. May be a while yet like you said, but I think there are going to be quite a few of us that will still be watching for you to come back, no matter how long it could take. Good luck

sorry you are right, i should have said reformat instead of defragment, but yes lets hope all that is not needed. just better be safe then sorry. the main thing is to reinstall your whole operating system, then you know you are starting with a clean slate so to speak.

About formatting the hard drive to 'clean it' - that won't work and all formatting does is 'tell' the computer that the space is 'blank', when really all the data is still there.

To completely wipe the data you need to do a 7-pass wipe using a program like DBAN - make a floppy or CD with DBAN, go to DOS at startup, then run DBAN. This will take a long time - many hours, as it rewrites all the sectors with 'junk data' over and over again. Afterwards, re-install Windows as normal and you'll be secure.

Peace

true that, but once you reinstall the operating system and all your backed up files and software, most of the old data should be over written. but if you really want to be 100% sure about your hard drive then you better take that fucker out and destroy it with a hammer and drill, lol.

S'okay guys, I've got it covered. The files were shredded, all traces pulled from Windows, and all free space on the drives were overwritten 32 times with an algorithm and method that prevents even hardware level recovery. And all it took was one password - since I've had that folder targeted for instant deletion by that program since it existed.

I got it covered ;)

Like I said, I have my security response locked down.

Issue has been resolved to my complete satisfaction. The issue in question suddenly moved out of state, for unknown reasons. :sasmokin:

However, I am going to take this opportunity to revamp the room some. With summer here, it's time to get the A/C in. After looking at it, I just decided screw it, I'm putting up plywood walls, no more plastic tents. I'm going to hard duct everything, and do it up right. I'm also going to more permanently wire my timers, and possibly add in this flip flop I've got lying here. An extra pod will also be added, maybe for the flip flop, maybe for storage. I'm not completely decided yet.

So, within the next two weeks to a month, things should be back in place. So, you generous souls that have offered to help restock, I may be reaching out to you

Thanks so much for the support guys! I'll probably be starting a new thread beginning with the remodel build out, and if new genetics come in, I'll need a new thread anyway :D

I'll keep ya posted here, with a link to the new thread when it comes about. I'll update my sig as well, of course.

Til next time

Here's the design I'm considering, if I go ahead and use the third pod for flowering.

5121growroomventilation.jpg

And one with some plants...

5121growroomfrnt.jpg

As you can see, I'm planning on building a box along the back wall for the A/C to cool. Cool air will be vented from the box into the rooms via registers in the wall of each pod. The air will be drawn up over the plants by the cool tubes, and out through the carbon filter. Each cool tube will have a valve between it and the main exhaust duct to balance airflow equally in each pod.

There will, of course, be weather stripped rough doors of plywood.

The ballasts and flip/flop unit would be mounted to the end (not shown in diagram).

That's the thought for now. Each flowering pod will be off thirty days from the other, providing a monthly harvest. Another possibility is to turn the tubes vertical, and have two trees per room.

But once again, this is all speculation, I have no use for a monthly harvest, or to run at the full capacity of this design (1 plant/sq. ft. = 16 plants per pod, or 32 flowering plants in total).

What do you guys think?
