I use deet. Just spray my clothes down. Boots, etc, Try not to get it on my skin. Helps for mosquitos too. My previous job entailed combating ticks daily, and being in the woods all summer and fall Im battling them still. I just use bug spray, Seems like they dont like the deet. Havent had one yet this season.

Any tick that is allowed to survive is a Million baby ticks next spring... clean up and burn all you find

There is a nasty spray that you can treat zones with, Ticks then avoid the area for the year, I forget the name, it is sold commonly in Spain, no doubt rules and products are different in the US. If they are a threat near where you work, treat the area...

Hartz flea and tick soap when you come out the woods powder before you go in and the topper an old infantry trick is to wear pantyhose keeps them from beingable to lodge in the skin.

Eat an ass-ton of garlic. Everyday. When you sweat, the odor comes out and bugs don't like it.

Plus garlic is a super food.

Definently give your body a once over when you've been in the woods once you get home. Don't freak out it your find one on you. It takes something like 48 hrs for a deer tick to transmit lyme.

I find them on me all the time. Even just walking out back to my veg garden. Maybe someone should invent a frontline product for humans ha ha.

Panty hose and long sleeve tight fitted spandex shirt tucked in. Yeah it's kinda gay but cheap as hell and it does work very well. They are unable to bite through. Then all you gotta worry about is your neck/head.

If you have some cash to spend there's a company called rynoskin that offers a more rugged/thicker material outfit based on same concept and including a head piece. Meant to be worn under clothes but I've gone out full commando with the camo version. Try it you'll feel like a superhero.

Works well, but by the end of the season the pants will likely tear, around the ankles from putting them on if not careful. The top and mask are fairly durable as long as you don't snag them on anything. All pieces can be bought separately.
