Try to stay out of the tall grass & weeds.

Waist-high brush & tree limbs can hold them as well.

Spray insect repellent from your knees down, including ankle/socks.

Hat, head, & shoulders get a spray.

Spray up from the wrists to the elbows.

Get as much of your torso as you can.

If there's a breeze, use it to help get spray on your back.

That's about all you can do.

Avoid if possible, dose them if you can't, pick them off ASAP.

Ticks like to get into nice warm cozy places. Between your socks and legs, underware line, underneath your clothes and such. I like to wear a long shirt with long pants and like someone up there mentioned ^^^ rubberband the bottom of your pant legs so nothing can crawl in.

After your out, I strip it down outside and shake out my clothes, which is promptly followed by a thorough inspection of my hair and a shower. Seems to do the trick without dousing myself in insect repellent. It smells funny....

1. wear pants, with boots,or w/e..tuck pants and everything,so that there is no opening to allow ticks to get on you...this is the best way..basicall common sense..try to cover as much part of your body, leaving no skin exposed..

2.be careful,as wild ticks are knwon to carry lime diseases..beyonds the potin dat datz just FUKKIN GROSS MAN

3.when looking for a good plot,pick a most rugged,eahrd to reavh place..

Hi,

I wear white clothes so I can see the dark little bugs crawling up on me. Then, ticks often occur in places where deer is hiding out the daytime. That means that one should either avoid these spots or if for long-term in contrary disturb the deer. I also believe that a toe of garlic every day helps to keep off suckers such as ticks, mosquitoes, bloodflies, ....

Man, i freakin hate ticks. Every season i have to deal with tons of these mofos!!! im surprised I haven't gotten lymes disease yet, I have to pull at least a few of em off every time I water....this is usually with long pants and a tee-shirt as well. Every time I get home, I check every part of my body...especially my head and hair...ticks are such a pain, I've had an itch for well over a week on multiple occasions. Their bite packs quite a punch usually pussing until healed. Damn you Pandora!!!!! Peace

Wearing lighter coloured clothing helps. I dose my outdoor wear with "Deep Woods Off" the nite before and spray my exposed areas just before going in. I wash very throughly when I return. Lyme disease will show a "target" shaped rash after a few days and should be treated by a physician immediately! Be careful out there!

You must have an allergy to their saliva or something. I've never heard of pussing, or even much of a wound for that matter. I can't recall ever even having one bleed, and I've pulled quite a few ticks off of myself. Assuming it's an allergy, you may be able to get some type of allergy med to combat it. I don't know if they make anything for ticks though.

There is nothing that can be done here. Last year for insstance, the ticks were so thick, that anytime i went out other than early morning, i would have 15- 20 ticks on me. I have to take my clothes off on the deck, throw them in the washer on hot and hop into the shower. This still results in ticks everywhere.

I probably plucked out 20 ticks that had already dug in. Get used to it and hope like hell the chiggers arent bad 2. They seem to focus on my nuts.

Spray your clothes down with peremetherin then bag them for a hour and you will never have a tick on you ever. stuff comes in a yellow or purple can at cabelas or bass pro. I'm in the woods hunting mushrooms and turkeys everyday and haven't had a tick on me in over 5 years, my buddies all use it now after going out with me and they were absolutely covered with those basturds.before they started using it. It is a aerosol spray and it doesn't have that nasty deet stuff in it, it is what the goverment uses.
