I remember Gorf well. This thread takes me back to my old Atari (before it was a 2600). I play MAME arcade emulator now. Keep reminding me of old video games, so I can download more ROMS.

I remember getting an Amstrad CPC 464 when i was around 6/7 years old,
old school ting, used to take an hour to load a game then crash with a minute to go lol ,

Double Dragon was awesome in it's time
Barbarian was great as well, when you won the fight a goblin used to walk from the side of the screen and grag your beaten opponents body away, quality stuff

loads of other games i used to love playing but can't remember the names of them, i thing i do remember is 1 christmas when i was 7 i got a game pack for the amstrad, it had 50 games in this box, but in true Amstrad CPC 464 style only about 10 of them worked lol

built a mame cabinet, that's my baby. Grew up on arcades.

Also Apple ][e, C64 and Atari 800xl, the home pc's i had that i now have connected to my pc for roms. Too fun playing wizardry I on apple ][ in the dark. At the same time, was playing traditional AD&D also. Latest pc games i liked a lot were the AD&D series for PS/2 IBM pc's, and MANIAC MANSION!

The only new-ish games I play are UT2004 (only occasionaly)
and I REALLY love my Nintendo DS Lite with my Pokemon games. That shit is addicted to get blazed and train pokemon on the DS Lite for hours.

But at the core, I'd rather be playing space duel, centipede, tempest or robotron on a full size betson arcade monitor w/mame!

you can keep your roms current via that newsgroup. No need for desynced websites.

Also, if you want games like M.A.C.H 3 and other laser disk games to work, there's alt.binaries.emulators.mame.chd for the chd files.

They just brought the Sega Mega Drive back out here in the UK with a load of built in games, those pics bring back some memories Golden Axe and Double Dragon were Arcade classics!!!! Im CoD 360 all the way these days...Peace

Hell i still play Mortal kombat 2 and ultimate Mk almost daily(or at least weekly) online against others with mame 32k 0.64 peer to peer.

I also play streetfighter 3rd strike with ggpo.net againt others

i just dont like these wobbly 3d games they got now
