Thrips, I kinda dont like um

Good evening everyone,

So I got a little problem, its probably been asked before, and it probably has a proper solution as well. But my case is kind of specific, and I only have one GO at it, so I have to make this right. So follow my story, and lets figure this out...

VEG room is my BEDROOM with flood tables with hydroton, along with my mothers in soil, all under T-5's. I have sprayed them with azetrol, and safers soap many times, and just some how cannot get them dead. Flower room is seperate and sealed running four 1000s. The flower room is on its FIRST cycle (just built) with plants half way through budding (these plants were infestedat first when they switched rooms, but after a bug bomb when the plants first went in, the flower room has been clean for a month). Since they are budding, gassing and poisons may be a bit too late. In a few days I plan to move the second cycle into the flower room with plants that are infested. Now these plants I plan to dunk in a bucket before the move, along with the mothers as well, and hopefully that will eliminate the Thrips problem... I hope.

Now my main question and concern, do you find it necassary to bug bomb my BEDROOM, and is it safe? If I take out every plant and dunk um, then move them into the flower room, do you think that will be a risk in infesting the flowering plants? and do you think bombing my bedroom will be a bad idea? I just dont want my next set of clones-to-veg to get infested by thrips hiding in corners and have to start the problem all over again.

Sorry if this was scatterbrained, its late, and I've been stressing over this for a while... These little basterds will NOT die

Hackk, I am sure others will give you some options/answers to your problem....but I offer a suggestion for pest management in the future...keep a few 'daddy longlegs' around...they might STOP an infestation like your current one from happening...you might have to wipe some surfaces down after bugbombing and spraying though...

If the flowering room is sealed off as you say, then yes bombing the veg room shouldn't have any impact on the flower room. Make sure the chemical is completely gone before you put any plants, soil, nutes or anything growing related back in.

This stuff is legit, and kills an array of little annoying fuckers. alot cheaper than other methods. used it for spidermites on some clones i got. it will have more than one use for you over time.

Thanks guys. I'll give that stuff a try. In terms of moving them into the flower room, that I think will be easily solved. However, my major concern is the veg room. Since the trays are located in my bedroom, I dont know the impact of using a fogger will have on my health/clothes/bed/carpet etc... Im sure I can kill all the bugs ON THE PLANTS, but Im worried about any thrips that may be lingering around my bedroom as well.

You know what I mean? What options do I have to completely eliminate this problem?

Thanks

Thrips need your plants in order to survive. If you spray your plants, then move them, any thrips that may have fallen off won't survive long. You can spray the carpet LIGHTLY and let it dry by itself and then vacuum and you'll be more than good to go. If it makes you feel better, change all your sheets etc. It doesnt smell much, far as I can remember, and I don't believe it to be very toxic to humans, though you can easily find out on the 'net.

awesome guys! I see the spinosad is mainly meant for a spray, and the PDF for the directions dont say anything about submersive amounts to use. Do any of you have an idea on what the quantity for a 5 gallon dunk bucket would be?

I know it sounds like a noob question, but I've only sprayed, never dunked, and I want to do it right the first time so I dont get a flower room infestation...

thanks again everyone!

i would guess it is the same dilution as the spray... also if you do spray its organic, just some bacteria that won't do anything to you or pets, so if the fans are off it'll leave a lot less residue than bombing the room or anything like that... don't worry about plants in veg; you can always spray them again; it's the plants in flower you need to worry about

if they are thrips spinosad will knock them down; i'd probably mix up 3 or 4 gals in the 5 gal bucket; depends on how big your plants are.. fwiw i've always sprayed spinosad but i don't see why a dunk wouldn't work

I agree with everything posted concerning Spinosad & Monterey.
I just got done dealing with these little fuckers & posted damn near the same thing.
Hurry up & go get it.
IMO you could spray your flower room as well @ 4 weeks..and although I would not recommend it, it states on the package, you can use up until harvest.
It is Organic & It Works.
