So, what exactly is porcine insulin?
Is there a link to the diet you are recommending?
Are there people that have responded to this blood type diet, that have had diabetes as long as TOH has(24 yrs)?

So, what exactly is porcine insulin?
Porcine insulin is insulin produced from pigs. It's the most compatible with humans. It is the most popular version of insulin used throughout the world for diabetics. I believe amerika is the only country that insists on using the inferior (yet high money making) synthetic version. You can buy porcine insulin from online canadian pharmacies.
You'll use less because it lasts longer.

Is there a link to the diet you are recommending?
Do a search for "Blood Type Food List" and follow the Dr. D'Adamo links. It's been top of the results for a long time now.

Yes. Search through blogs for diabetes and blood type diet and you'll find them. People with type II relating their experiences are also relevant as it's acting on the same body system. Also... look for stories of people who've had their page pulled for "Giving medical advice" when all they were doing was posting their own results and asking other diabetics to look in to it. Been a couple, don't have the links.

The wife mentioned something about D'Adamo partnering or working with a university in the near future. Should be good news out of there.

The fellow I worked with was almost 30 and had been on insulin since diagnosed with it almost 20 years earlier. A quick search will lead you to more people that state the same thing.

When food is part of the problem, following the proper food choices makes a dramatic difference. With sugar levels that out of control... it will make a dramatic difference.

I know this will help. Not a single shred of doubt whatsoever. Find out their blood type and max out their intake of "Diabetes Superbeneficial" foods on their list. They'll be fine. :)

I'm sorry that TOH is sick. Diabetes is a strange disease. I understand your frustration with the insurance, or the lack of. I'm uninsured also.

TOH has type 1 diabetes, has had it since he was 7. He tried the Atkins diet, and it didn't help any with his blood sugar. His pancreas does not work, he needs insulin, to stay alive. He eats very healthy, he is fit, he is active. All that being said, he is having a harder and harder time controlling his blood sugars. I have watched him deal with diabetes, for a very long time, and he is definitely on a downward slope with his illness. It is brutal to watch, and the feeling of helplessness is terrible. The medical industry, because long term chronic illness, is an industry, should be so very ashamed. TOH and I have talked many times about the fact that he is truly a customer, and not a patient. We both have to watch the other suffer, and it helps us to persevere. If he can stand everything, knowing, he is dying faster than the me, and he is younger, than I better be strong. Like he is. I just want him to feel better. He had a blood sugar of 54 at 3 am, then a blood sugar of 210 at 7 am. He is getting better, I suppose. I will be better, when he is better. Thank you all for the support. I guess watching somebody you love, suffer, is probably the worst shit ever, and to anyone out there, in our shoes....I send positive vibes to you and your TOH.

Atkins is mainly the O blood type food list. Won't help at all if you're not O.

I don't understand why you're typing all that information. It has nothing to do with what I posted, so of course it's not going to help with the diabetes.

Blood type them, read the lists, switch food choices. Eating "Healthy" according to mainstream information can be deadly. It nearly killed my wife, which is when we found this diet/food-choice 10 years ago.

Making the switch takes a lot of time learning what you can and cannot eat. It's worth it.

The longer they eat for their blood type, the slower their diabetes will advance.

Do it. Post the results. You'll be absolutely amazed and delighted.

positve vibes your way castout! I was wondering why you weren't stopping by my build thread or anything...

I am so sorry to hear this! my one close friend has had diabtetes since he was a kid, never over weight or anything, just born with it. he can control it well, because he is young but I can only imagine how much trouble it becomes as you get older.

I really hope TOH can pull through and you can continue on your happy lives! I really wish you the best!

We are going to get the book from amazon, that coincides with his blood type, which is O.
The red bumps are Diabetes Folliculitis, and we have to keep an eye on them, to make sure the infection doesn't worsen, and they need to be drained.
I have read a lot of material in regards to the "Eat Right for your Blood Type", and people seem to do well with it, but I have also read some material that diabetics have written, saying they had awful fluctuations, and gotten sick.
As I said earlier, he had tried the Atkins, and his blood sugars continued to fluctuate.
I hope this diet might help, but I am doubtful there will be a huge change for him.
Diabetes is a horrible disease, and no matter what he does, it seems like he is just going downhill.
When TOH and I got involved years ago, I educated myself about diabetes, and unfortunately, this is the progression of this disease.
It is so very unfair, that with all the advances in medicine, there is still no cure, for this disease.
TOH is a customer, and he keeps the machine oiled, and so do all the other diabetics out there.
And he is dying........I understand we are all born to die...but it is especially cruel to be reminded everyday, that you don't have the same life expectancy or quality of life, that other people do.
And he suffers so much....he is the bravest person I know, and it is an honor to be by his side.
When TOH is suffering, he never complains, and he hides what he deals with, from almost everyone.
I would like to win the lottery, and then take all that money, and find a cure.
Thank you all for allowing me to vent.

I'd suggest the RSO and at least let the oil help him enjoy the new diet better! Here is a link and a portion of the article:
http://canadianawareness.org/2012/08/cannibus-oil-rick-simpson-says-its-a-cure-all-medication/
My nephew Anthony asked Rick what types of things can cannabis oil cure. Rick told us he has treated and cured people that had different types of cancers, aids, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, diabetes, chronic pain, arthritis, STDs like herpies, warts, moles, rashes, boils , all types of skin conditions and much more that he could not think of at the time.

I have been doing some reading about the porcine insulin, and it seems that in children there is more control with the porcine insulin. TOH's grandmother had diabetes, and has since passed away. She lived in Canada her whole life, and her Dr's there had her on the same type of insulin as TOH has always been on, HUMULIN N and R. The Canadian Dr's never put her on porcine insulin, and the American Dr's have never put TOH on porcine insulin. We have used bovine antibiotics for both of us, that we purchased at a farm supply store. We had to use it, when TOH got strep throat, and we were in the middle of nowhere, and couldn't drive...a friend picked up the bovine antibiotics...they worked. the porcine insulin also has rat insulin and bovine insulin in there as well. I am very nervous for TOH to switch insulin....he used Novolog, and had a tough time with control.

Novolog is synthetic.

The HUMULIN N and R are also synthetic.

Should you get the opportunity, it would be good to at least try the porcine or bovine insulins. They definitely won't kill if used properly.

Each blood type has a "Secretor" status. O non-secretor doesn't do honey or maple syrup and a few other foods well that the O 'secretor' can. Read up on the blood type diabetics that had issues with the blood type diet. Find out what their secretor status was and what specific foods they attributed their issues to.

Keep in mind that your genetic background also has an effect on the foods you choose. Someone who's B with a father who was O... might react negatively to a "Neutral" food for B, that turns out to be an avoid for O. I've only seen a few things happen that way in each person, some don't have any reactions like that and the lists are pure gold for them.

Steady diet of RSO will definitely help. Cannabinoids are amazing for sugar level control.

Results in days. Really. :)
