This new website is terrible!!!

Donnt know about anyone else, but the new site is slow as fuck for me, everytime i try to scroll down the page, a little box pops up at the top saying working and the whole page lags out for a couple seconds taking forever to scroll to the bottom of a page.

The speed is better. The white space is a bit too white IMHO. It makes reading it a bit more visually disconnecting and less linear.

It would be nice if the contact phone icon linked to gypsy's cell phone. Sure he wouldn't mind some small talk, complaints and random pot fanatics. Seriously though it doesn't resolve in a phone and the aesthetics rub me the wrong way on that one.

Once the kinks get worked out everything will be better. It amazes me folks are talking about leaving, in fact I don't even believe any of you about that. You'll stay and learn the layout more than likely, kinks will be worked out and you'll be back to normal. Well, as normal as some of you folks get lol.

Be patient and file bug reports if you want to be constructive. This is a great site run by decent folks, some of you have been here for years and years. IC mag has done right by you why don't yall try returning the favor?

vBulletin didn't just pull this design out their ass. My experience with IT change has always been the same. Suck it up for a bit, give it a bit of time, and eventually everything works out for the better.

If folks are having trouble with the colors check out Dark Reader extension for Chrome and FireFox. I use it all the time because bright screens day in and out give me migranes, it gives you more a lot more control over colors and contrast. This is what my ICmag looks like:

This upgrade will be the death of ICMag. Mark my words. If Gypsy wants his site to survive he should revert ASAP, and upgrade to XenForo. No one will want to be at this site, regardless of the great content, because it is so cumbersome to find it all now.

Click your name in the upper right. Go to My Profile. One of the folder tabs is SUBSCRIBED.

We'll make this easier to find in due course. For the time being, if you go to the forum index and click on my subscriptions you should find any threads you're subscribed to.

Unfortunately the forum was actually very broken but that happens if you don't update your forum software for 13 years and add multiple modules that don't follow any sort of coding guidelines. Ideally things would have been kept up-to-date and 'upgraded' slowly but this is where we're at. We have a long list of improvements to implement as well as various design changes in the coming months so we should end up in a better place than we were before.

i can understand everyone's frustrations but i am really excited and i think once everyone starts to find their way around, it'll be better. there are some great ways to search for info, tag people so they see your post and stuff.

i'm actually here to report a bug. i am exploring the user settings and under account it says i need to click to display my signature as well as do any changes to it, so i clicked it and made some changes but when i try to save the changes, it says error due to email address not being filled it. like it wants me to fill out the email part to change it but i don't want to change it and it won't save the other changes unless i fill that part out. i bet if i added my email it would then be upset about the password possibly because that is also blank. not a computer person tho but this area needs a little attention. thanks!!

Thanks very much for the feedback. We're planning on adding a few things to the profile area, user settings and notifications (non channel list basically) so will look at this at the same time. Things will get better but it's going to be uphill for a while until we can sort everything out.

thailer I found that it's because it inputs your username in the first field for an email. If you remove that, it doesn't try to update your email address and goes ahead as you want it to. There are a couple flaws still in there in that you can't change your post counts per page or change your background options.
