Im out of town. Cops raid my apartment. All I know is what my neighbors told me on the phone. They told me they saw the cops harassing the guy at the front office for a key for a while until the guy finally gave it to them.

Now this place is not in my name, I was just crashing there for one month as a favor for friends who moved out of state a month early.(no reason i know of or she could think of for them to come there for her{person who's name is on the lease})
Theres nothing i have done or do that would cause the police to come looking for me either.

Things in the apartment that are now gone.

1 small plant in veg, 1 bong, 2 grams cannabis, 1 scale, 20 xannax

Neighbors said they could see them turning the lights off and the use a big blue or probably black light...what the fuck could the be searching for.


Doesn't seem like they had a warrant since they had a hard time getting a key, but I don't know what the fuck is going on.

What should I do? How do I figure out what the hell happened?

if you've got nothing to hide, except for one small plant and a few pills, then don't sweat it. Don't turn yourself in, unless you got served some kind of papers, but just get your stuff out of there and move on.

That's what I was thinking...Blood or other body fluids.
I would be wondering WTF they would check for that as that is not normal for a standard search. Your friend may of left for reasons you don't know and don't want to know.

If they did not, that evidence should not be admissible.

Stay away, or they might try to arrest you there and then charge you.

I called the front office, the guy i talked to said he didn't talk to any cops, he would make a call and figure it out and call me back with in a half hour. Its been about 4 hours with no call from him. I tried calling back and got no answer.

He probably was advised by his higher ups not to get involved with you directly and to let the police conduct their investigation or whatever. Management companies don't want to get involved unless their money or property is in jeopardy.

Have you talked to a lawyer yet? A lawyer could make some calls and possibly find out what (if any) charges have been filed or what they were looking for, if they had a warrant, etc, etc. It would be money well spent IMO.

This is what the person on the lease has told me after they contacted the management company.

There was a payment arrangement for back rent that didn't get made so apparently the apartment complex had the write to have the cops go in there. The payment was for that day the 20th this happened that night. They said the place was labeled a grow house cause they found two plants, there was really one plant and one solo cup with dead roots in it.

I have not contacted a lawyer yet, I need too, this is some fucken bull shit.

Good luck. But seriously I'd get a lawyer asap - there's a good chance a lawyer can find some technicality to have the charges thrown out or reduced, especially since your name wasn't on the lease.
