Sorry to hear no massive buds, heart breaking when you put 2 months time into a project. Upside you got some nie seeds. So I'm getting ready to try a round of seed making myself, what would you do different next time or recommend for me to do. I was planning on just letting nature do its thing and just keep a male in the cab till he blows then remove him and let the girls finish out...

It happens, watcha gonna do. I got a little lazy and left him in there a day or two after I knew he had dropped pollen.

What I normally do is cut a branch that's loaded with pollen sacks and just about ready to open, place that branch in a cup of water in another room sitting on a mirror or piece of plastic, over the next week or so it will drop pollen and ill collect it and use a little paint brush to selectively pollenate a few branches.

I got lazy, plain and simple.

Good thing is the seeds, this thing is frostier than a son of a gun. I will get some better close-up pics when I can. Been trying to get things finished up here so I can get my LED setup going.

It looks more like you got a leggy lower yielding pheno than the pollination affected the yield. Whenever I've pollinated buds, they haven't been smaller because they were pollinated, they were still the same size as they would usually be without pollination. If anything, they are heavier and slightly larger due to the seeds in the buds.

When is the LED show going to start?

Yeah you're probably right. I just wondered because it was impregnated so early into flower. They do seem to be fattening up a bit the past week so hopefully not a total loss. Maybe make some edibles.

LED setup won't be long, already have everything together, just waiting for this plant to finish and we'll be moving over to 145w worth of LED in the same tent. Not sure yet if I want to run a scrog first or try a sog. Looking forward to it regardless.

Shouldn't be long. Seeds should be fully mature by now.

Checked a bean this morning, not quite ready. Might have to run it to 70 days to make sure. The smell is incredible. Grape starburst and mango fruityness + sweet tarts. Never had anything like it. I fuking love great odors/smells over anything. Can't wait to smoke some calyxes, lol.

run it 70 days to make sure, those might be some awesome ass seeds, let them things get dark mnb, the genetics in there seem to be valuable old school genes , me likie

i also suggest maybe take a sample nug now and then can compare on how the flavor is at 58 days and70 and probably the buzz will be different at 70 days too , anyway, just suggestions for future reference incase anyone grows these seeds out and can come here for reference and info on the mom, just rambling , im a notorious early chopper for the flavor and buzz increase , duration of the buzz ive noticed is a benefit of waiting longer and of course more weight , but i like flavor and buzzier high, so i chop lil earlier than most

Random germination experiment, discussed with another poster.

Posting in here as well. The discussion was that letting seeds get submerged would rot/kill them and possibly not allow them enough oxygen to germinate. However, that's how I always germinate my seeds so I wanted to test it vs leaving them floating.

One cup will be left undisturbed and seeds floating. The second cup -- I will swirl the water every 6-8 hours until the seeds are submerged. 4 Mob Boss F3's in each.

This experiment shouldn't take long!

i think you'll have better success, if anything in the swirled one. they could very well all germinate either way as well, though.
i'll be watching the results :D

Germination Experiment Results:

40 hours after seeds were put in cup we have tails on all but 1 of each. Have to say im impressed with the floaters, it appears its unnecessary to swirl them around. The floaters appear to have slightly larger tails as well. Well that was easy.

A little surprised, I thought the floaters would take longer to germ.

Cool to know.

And to clarify the germ experiment was done with all the same pheno seeds. But yes shawkster I did start some of the other as well. Think i'm gonna run some mob boss f3's and sccjxmb sogs in both tents. 145W LED and 110w PLL.

plant looks good, i think the yield in this case is down to the genetics rather than anything lacking in the light/setup. should be some killer smoke though.
